runaway hit on major Christian Rock radio stations, and "Take It" was a number 1 ballad almost

Breakaway
Idle Cure Lyrics
I'm a fool, half insane
Heard 'em all, it's just another name
I feel good nothing to hide
Cast your stone and I'll step aside
I used to fight
That's how I'd play
Now it's changed, I just walk away
Look in my eyes
It's got me hooked there's no compromise
You seem lost, you seem lonely
Don't be afraid
Breakaway leave behind the old life
Breakaway a touch of love
Look around check it out
Out on the street
To stay alive
You pack a blade and a 45
You're tough enough, so I've heard
Love to you is just another word
Walkin' the line, playing the odds
Don't be fooled you got to count the cost
It's your life, what will you choose?
You've won before but what if you lose
You seem lost, you seem lonely
Don't be afraid
Breakaway leave behind the old life
Breakaway a touch of love
Look around check it out
The prize is just ahead it's waiting
Fight the fire, don't feed the flame
Take a chance and breakaway
Breakaway leave behind the old life
Breakaway a touch of love
Look around check it out

Such a good tune. We must breakaway from worldly desires as we become re-born in Christ.

@Brandon Rogers Six of which have served me well in my pursuit of happiness. Number seven is on my bucket list. I’ll get to it eventually. Thank you for the clarification, Brandon. 👍🏼

I know this is from a hundred years ago…well, eight anyway…but you might still be around so I have to ask: what is meant by “worldly desires?” 🤷🏼♂️

This band deserved to be mentioned together with Petra, Whitecross, Stryper and others, as one of the greatest. They are very good in lyrics and composition in general. Unfortunately there are not so many christians that know this band.

@Astronomy79 There is no perfect christian. Michael owns upon and keeps things real. Honestly if they weren't christian, they wouldn't sing about Jesus and make a fortune, but they don't. They do sing about Jesus,

@Astronomy79 I think I might have some idea but what do you mean?

@Astronomy79 ¿ What do ya mean?

I don't consider Stryper a christan band anymore after seeing the real MIchael Sweet.
