Track 1-Better Than Money- A punchy, up-beat, feel-good song meant to
inspire and bring the listener out of mundane cycles and into a world where
love is better than money.
Now we all like addiction cuz we're nikin' to feed off of television propaganda poporazi. It's a delicate situation just as this. God hands a gift down to peeps who don't appreciate it. Take a step back take a look a bit. Take a look around and realize it's all a brain numbing hogwall society filled with people who don't care about you or me.
*Chorus* We can make this life what we want if we want it bad enough. But everyone everyone's got to agree that love is better than money. love is better than money*end chorus*
If you don't rot your tummy why pollute your mind? You're holding all that information way back behind the logic and unique that defines you. We're wearing oxygen masks cuz we're feeling blue. There's got to be a point where time just stops. You take a look around at what you got. Readjust re-examine organize your mind and all you desire will come in time.
*repeat chorus*
Bridge- Life's too short to be dishonest. If everyone would speak up and suspend all their reason sooner we would have went beyond the moon. In order to live you got to see things that make you want to. In order to live you got to see things, you got to. Cuz time fades away and I pray I can at least turn to grey, hopefully gracefully.
*repeat chorus*
Track 2-Come Back Around- A sweeter side of Mayhem; Come Back Around was inspired by true-life events which spiraled into a realization of maturity. This song's honesty and reflection on the circle of life is perfect driving music.
I feel I'm missing out on life's most important things. Been thinking about career for so long I forgot about me. I'm married to my music which doesn't leave much room for love. Following a pipe dream and dreaming of who I'd become.
*chorus* But I'll follow in my footsteps of what I know I got to do. I'll take a little time then I'll leave it all behind and then, I'll come back around. I'll come back around.*end chorus*
God has a funny way of giving us what we want often times at the price of something we don't want to give up. She may have a sense of humor, but I'm not laughing. In fact I need some answers I hope she gives me a ring
*chorus*
God has a funny way of giving us what we want. She sure has a funny way of giving us what we need.
Track 3-Reason To Live- Who knew that basking the warmth of simplicity could sound like so much fun! This song is a statement from the singer, believing everyone has a purpose for living, a beautiful mission that can easily get lost along the "path".
Well I ain't no millionaire living up high looking down on the world slave away so I can make a dime. I ain't up in hollywood memorizing lines making money off my make-up vanity on primetime.
*chorus* I make a change by living my life in a way so much bigger than you or I. I'm part of something that will make history. I got a reason to live for more than just me. *end chorus*
Well I ain't royal blue but my blood runs thick. I got shrapnal round my neck, flick your bic what's next? And I ain't no politician lie my way into position transmission jammed- what you got to say?! There's my version there's your version, there's a line and there's a truth. I just stand for what is right and what is left is up to you.
*repeat chorus*
Everyone knows that everyone dies so while I'm here it's my decision what I do with my time. My choice isn't easy but I know it's my path, for those of you who disagree, kiss my- ASK ME what it takes for freedom and how will it start. Everything you need to know is in your heart. If we got to disagree then let's make a change. Tweak your field of vision, calibrate your open range.
*repeat chorus to end*
Track 4-Dance- A song of love, and the notion of living without the person loved. This song captures the memories and joys of a relationship, and delivers a warm delightful sound of closure.
Every time we fight something inside me wants to die. And when you walk out the door I start to cry. Didn't mean what I said, thought about only me. Please come back home safely please.
*chorus*
Let's dance
I don't know how much time I got left. all I know is the time I got with you is best spent. I'd give you gold and diamonds if I was naive. But I know you love nature so I planted a tree.
chorus- I danced in honor of your name
If you got to go it makes me sad to see that you're better off happy than being with me. But when you're down and out with nowhere to go my heart is where you'll stay in the music of my soul.
*chorus*
We danced the night away
Track 5-Figured Out Your Game- Sometimes relationships don't work. And sometimes, they do not work to such an extent that songs need to be written. Every female artist album has its PMS song, and this is it.
You have taken my freedom. I regret the day that we met. There's nothing worse than feeling that you were a waste of my time. I'm happy oh so joyful that your life is separate from mine. I hope one day you feel the sting from my bite.
I remember everything you said to me while I choked on your- come on please. Like you cared about me. I was just another notch on your post pardon me.
*chorus* I figured out your game
I didn't- couldn't see it, the forest through the trees. Afterthought has brought me alone and with nothing. I'm the bringer of karma and it's time that you paid up. How could you do this to me. You kinged me while my back was turned.
*chorus*
You can't just ruin my life without me coming back to say "oh by the way you should have killed me now I'll do to you what you have done to me"
*repeat chorus*
Track 6-I'm Not Here- A very personal piece written for the composer's mother, who fell terminally ill. Alcoholism coupled with the illness eventually separated the daughter from her mother. This song is an expression of that event.
I would say I'm sorry but that just wouldn't be enough. There are days regret comes my way. There's not a day that goes by that it don't. And I'd be lying if I said that I didn't miss you anymore. The truth is without you I wouldn't be here and without you I feel like I'm not here.
*chorus*
I'm not here I messed up now I'm reaping the bed I have sewn. All my thread's come undone, now your memory is all I know. It's all I know.
I've recently learned a life lesson. Sometimes it's just too late. And all of the sweat, the tears and the blood can never tackle the fight over fate. Maybe I stepped a little too hard, oh yes I stepped right on that crack. I've walked under ladders, I've broken mirrors, and I've crossed that big black cat's path.
*repeat chorus*
If I could, know I would try and make what I did different. But I can't so I won't make up for the damage I did. Say you'll try just to see what you used to love in me.
*repeat chorus*
Track 7-Break These Chains- A driving song and energetic tale of the courage to pursue the joys in life.
I am driving beep beep down the cobble stone street I am cradling my health away until I admit defeat. I am headed to work for the man today just like every other day that's ever headed my way. But today is a day that I'll change my life around
*chorus* I'm gonna break. I'm gonna break these chains, yeah. I'm gonna break, I'm gonna break these chains
Going back to the pawn shop where my baby has been, buying back the strings I sold away while my wallet was thin. Then I'll tell the man he need not bother giving me a dime, rather be a poor guitarist than sign away my life. But today is a day that I'll change my life around
*repeat chorus*
BRIDGE-I'm going down I'm going down just one more time. I'm going down I'm going down can't you hear me crying? I'm going down I'm going down and I like it baby!
*repeat chorus*
Track 8-Boxcars and Wine- An honest ballad written about personal events. The words "Boxcars and Wine" were inspired by C. Manson who devastated America with his actions not too long ago. The mission behind the statement of the song is that everyone feels. If everyone feels, then we are not alone, but we should always be mindful of what we do to our bodies and the people around us when we feel alone.
I've been living off of chances. I've been chasing the stars. I ain't no saint, but I'm the sailor of time. I've seen good men turn to dogs, and I've heard nations cry. Lord I'm young, but I feel like it's my time
*chorus* To rise above and make a change. I do it now, before it's too late. Lord I want a better life than boxcars and wine.
Feeling low, like I ain't got what it takes. I'm fighting odds that would make a gambler cry. I'm taking off my kid gloves and putting my fear aside. Bet your ass I'm gonna live while I'm alive.
*repeat chorus*
Track 9-Concrete and Copper- An instrumental written in Cincinnati, OH when the KKK, a highly racial group, decided to march down the street to protest equality of rights to everyone in America. The song was written as a prayer, without words, as words could not describe the fear and sadness felt by the composer during that time. The song was composed 45 minutes before the march. 5 minutes before the scheduled march, the KKK canceled and were escorted from Downtown Cincinnati by the Police.
Track 10-Screaming From Inside- A darker ballad inspired by a dream. In the dream a religious figure came to the composer and said, "I am not here to distract you or make you be anything but you, you know it's the truth. And I honestly believe there's more to life than to be batteries for people who don't care about you. When will you realize the days that go by you will never get back, don't trade them in. My biggest regret is not doing what I was put here for". In the dream, the composer told this figure she had really liked those words, and the figure smirked, "Then put it in a song". The rest, as they say, is history.
I want to know why everything is complicated. I want you to see what I see I want to live free.
*chorus* How can we live if we don't care? How can we love if we don't share I feel my words are falling on deaf ears I'm screaming from inside.
Bad things happen the good is forgotten death is a commercial. Poverty is a tax write off and Superman is dead.
*repeat chorus*
Bridge- I am not here to distract you or make you be anything but you you know it's the truth and I honestly believe there's more to life than to be batteries for people who don't care about you. When will you realize the days that go by you will never get back? Don't trade them in. My biggest regret is not doing what I was put here for.
*repeat chorus*
Track 11-Morning After- This soft ballad encompasses the emotion of a love lost, a love so strong, that the scent of the kisses is left behind and the memories of toes in the sand and waves claiming back the land seem like yesterday.
I walked up the steps the night that we met, not knowing where I was only where I came from and I was a long way from home. I was broke and I was stoned. And there you were with a smile on your face, surrounded by pretty girls in this foreign place and I didn't know what to say. So I just threw a smile back your way.
*chorus* There was no time. There was no space. It was just me and my feelings all over the place and I regret I didn't say more. All my feelings for you washed up on the shore the morning after the night we first met.
I was squishing sand between my toes while you recited rhymes which enveloped my soul and you were a long way from home, you were broke and you were stoned. We talked about music. We spoke our own language. As the waves crashed ashore I started to adore you drew your name in the sand. And then the waves claimed back their land.
*repeat chorus*
Track 12-God Must Be A Poet- A love song about admiring someone for who they are.
The composer speaks and says, "God must be a poet, because he broke the
mold when he made you"- a dark, sensual dip into the night. Grab a glass
of wine for this piece.
Track 13-Which One Will You Be- The decision to do the right thing is a daily decision. Some do not care if they lead their lives well, some obsess over it, and others are simply not even aware of the option. There are those who follow and lead, which one will you be?
