Don't Listen To Me
One Lyrics

Don't text me
Don't text me
The lyrics of "Don't Listen To Me" by One delve into the complex emotions and aftermath of a past relationship. The singer expresses feelings of restlessness and insomnia, unable to sleep and tossing and turning for no apparent reason. The familiarity of reaching out to the other person, exchanging casual greetings as if nothing has changed, highlights the contradiction between the outward appearance and the internal turmoil.
The lyrics reflect on the once seemingly irreplaceable connection that now feels light and fleeting. The singer questions if the other person truly understands the weight of the tired sighs and final words that were exchanged. The frustration and anger from the lack of understanding in the other person's messages lead to a realization that perhaps both parties did not fully know each other. Despite this, the singer decides they no longer want to delve into understanding or rekindling the past as their shared time together seems frozen in a particular moment.
The chorus repeats the sentiment of not wanting to be contacted and emphasizes the desire to move on from the lingering memories and attachments. The singer urges for the past lover to erase their contact information and not attempt to reach out again, emphasizing the need to say goodbye to any remnants of lingering feelings or regrets.
As the lyrics continue, the singer rejects the idea of revisiting the past and the sentiment that they were once happy together. It becomes clear that the singer is now content to live their life separately from the other person, emphasizing the need to move forward and live in the present without being pulled back into the nostalgia of their past relationship.
In the final verse, there is a bittersweet acknowledgment of the fond memories shared with the other person, but there is also a sense of closure and acceptance that it is time to let go. The singer expresses that even though there were painful moments and memories they are hesitant to forget, they have come to a realization that it is time to release those feelings and move on. The song concludes with a plea for the other person to pass by as a beautiful memory and not to seek further answers or rekindle the past, ultimately emphasizing the importance of cherishing the past but also letting go and embracing the present.
