They were the inspirers of their first music group (called “anadysi”) which was formed in 1996. With this group, they appeared in many music pitches of Aigaleo and Metamorphosi for four continuous seasons. During this, they made also appearances with artists such as Lakis Papadopoulos, Johny Vavouras and the Candilacs.
In the winter of 2000 and 2001, with the name Kitrina Podilata and after their first disco graphical work, they appeared in many music scenes of Athens such as the House Of Art, Stavros tou Notou, Architectoniki, “ston aera”, An club, Kafetheatro. Their first big summer concert was at the Plastira lake (2001) with Katsimiha Brothers, while in the summer of 2002 they appeared next to Dionysis Tsaknis and Layrentis Machairitsas in concerts all over Greece and Cyprus.
The winter of 2002, they cooperated and appeared along with Orpheas Peridis and Dimitris Starovas in the Theater of songs “METRO”. During the summer of 2003, they made concerts along with Lavrentis Maxairitsas and Dimitris Starovas, while right after they performed a winter tour in about 20 big cities outside of Athens such as, Corfu, Heraklion, Chania, Rethymno, Thessaloniki, Kiato, Megara, Rhodes, Katerini, many of which were along with Layretnis Machairitsas, while in Athens they made appearances in the theater of songs METRO with the participation of L. Machairitsas, D. Tsaknis and O. Peridis as well as in the music scene Dipla sto Potami.
During the winter of 2004, the band prepared to spend most of its time on the “street” touring all over Greece and Cyprus with Despoina Olympiou on the occasion of their cooperation in the disco graphical work of the last one.
Kitrina Podilata has known a wave of recognition all over Greece since they made one of their new songs "Tha paro fora" ("Θα πάρω φόρα") marks a step that music took along with the political and socio-economical events that have occurred in the country since the December 9, 2008. Their new song speaks of how the political systems care only of the countable value of their citizens. The song explains how citizens of Greece are manipulated for their votes though they are truly simple humans with wise dreams of justice, truth and about life. "Tha paro fora" underlines the fact that citizens understand that all power of true democracy is in their hands. A mere "drop" could make "the glass overflow" and if citizens revolt against what it already determined by a society that they could no longer choose like naturally free men, no one will be able to put an end to their protest. No one could stop them, not even the specialized police, the MAT, for Greek citizens have dreams, they want to live and their nature tells them never to give up on the fight against injustice.
This very song of Kitrina Podilata was first revealed on December 8, 2008 on a show "Radio Arvila", and "Tha paro fora" proved itself prophetic. In fact, the day following the presence of the band on the show, a young adolescent of 15 years of age, Alexandros Grigoropoulos (Αλέξανδρος Γρηγορόπουλος)was shot for no reason by a policeman in the region of Exarheia (Εξάρχεια). This immediately trigerred the anger of all citizens and especially that of young people. This was truly "the drop which made the glass overflow". Th people of Greece, exhausted by a conservative government which does not promote their interests, got out in the streets and protested. At the same time, anarchists destroyed many public properties and stores. The MAT, the specialised police, was called upon in order to put some order, but showed itself unable to calm the anger of the people.
"Tha ta paro" revealed itself prophetic in this way. Since the events of the 9th of December and the continuing protests of the people, the song of "Kitrina podilata" has become the symbol for the thirst for the respect of the right of equality and justice and the right to dream for citizens and, mainly, for the youths who fight the most vigorously against the lies of a corrupted society. Eventually, this is a potential symbol in this ferocious fight for all righteous humans in this world. The message of the continuing fight and riots in Greece has affected citizens all over the planet, and the fighting spirit for justice has spread in Paris, Hamburg, Constantinople and many other big cities.
