World Unlimited Promotions said "it's very much heart on sleeve time for this talented singer songwriter.... well worth trying to catch live".
After performing live for over 9 years with bands and as a solo artist, In 2006 Aaron embarked on a solo project where he independently wrote, recorded and produced his own album ‘Taking The Time To Heal'.
In November 2006 ‘What's On' magazine reviewed the album saying "Taking the time to heal, is something of a best-of package, featuring material penned for various solo and band projects over the last couple of years... the album confirms Aaron Yorke as an accomplished balladeer, particularly with such tracks as the soul searching 'I Thought I'd Let Go', gentle opener 'The Light' and piano led 'Letting Go' which place him very much in the Tom Baxter/ Damien Rice/ David Gray territory".
As a result of the success of the CD, Aaron began an extensive gigging schedule and set up 'The Aaron Yorke Band', with Ian Michaels on Electric Guitar, Alex Reynolds on Drums and Jim Cooper on Bass.
Internet based Homegrown Podcast said "Aaron is a deeply gifted songwriter who wears his heart on his sleeve. His latest album 'Taking the Time to Heal' is a mature collection of songs about the human condition. Aaron has the rare ability to share the intimate moments of his life with his audience...Here is someone who can put into words what you are feeling, who can express a certain moment in your life through his music".
2007 saw a return to the studio to record a band EP containing 5 tracks. One of which ended up at BRMB Birmingham Radio Station in August 2007. The song ‘Singled Out' was played on Dan Morrisey's Uploaded Radio show and the Aaron Yorke Band made it to the finals of The Arcadian Best Unplugged Act 2007. Chosen from thousands of acts around the West Midlands, Aaron performed to a packed out audience at the Arcadian Centre on 21st August. BRMB have called the band a "raw new acoustic talent" with Tammy Gooding congratulating Aaron "on what listeners are calling a 'fantastic' performance!".
They won the competition hands down and have now been booked by BRMB to be the ‘opening act' for the Christmas lights Show at Millennium Point in November 2007.
Now with the prize of Arcadian Best Unplugged Act 2007, Aaron and the band are busy gigging around the country performing acoustic and full band shows. The EP is shifting fast and the success of the solo album is still going strong.
