Wide Eyed And Legless
by Andy Fairweather Low

Wherever I go and whatever I do
I seem to spend some of my time
Trying to turn the black night, blue
Well I'm tired of it all
It's the same thing every night
But the rhythm of the glass Is stronger than the rhythm of night Wide eyed and legless
I've gone and done it again
Wide eyed and legless
This world is full of my shame
Shame, I can't get free from these chains
Oh, oh-oh (Instrumental) Wide eyed and legless
I've gone and done it again
Wide eyed and legless
This world is full of my shame
Shame, I can't get free from these chains
Oh, oh-oh I've been here before
But this time it feels like the end
I should've known better, I know
But my memory's no friend
Well, I've tried every thing
That I know will get rid of this fling
And I can't understand
Why I'm wide eyed and legless again Wide eyed and legless
I've gone and done it again
Wide eyed and legless
This world is full of my shame
Shame, I can't get free from these chains
Oh, oh-oh

one of the few happy songs

JW Suicides

Not if you watch the BBC movie named after the song that's here on youtube. It's a true story and will have you bawling your eyes out while you listen to the song.

Riff Digger

So young. Seems personable and Eric must have seen something special to have him on rock-solid rhythm guitar for so many years. Perhaps the humor was up Clapton’s alley, yes I would say that is a necessary ingredient.

My dad loved him. And this song was his funeral song! It's been a month xx listening thinking of my Dad xxxx

Wesley Kerslake

With Georgie Fame on organ!

800beemer

I thought that was Georgie on Keys.

JW Suicides

@Paul Landry I saw him at Ronnie Scott's back in the 80s playing Hammond. Great gig. Relevant to that whole 'music family' I've loved Alan Price's Hammond playing.

Paul Landry

@JW Suicides True, Georgie is a real master on the Hammond.

JW Suicides

Deffo a fender rhodes though he's also a Hammond chap!

JW Suicides

I missed it was Georgie Fame. Thanks!
