Will "Beng" Mercado: Vocals and Guitar
Francis "Kix" Bordeos: Bass
Jeff Almonte: Drums and Back Vocals
Serafin "Jun" Tinapunan: Guitar and Back Vocals
The funky sound of Filipino-American rock band, Blue Mellon Pop is an unusual blend of rock, reggae and blues. This distinct raw-fusion style comes from the broad influences that have come together from the four members of this Queens-based band. This all-original music act has Will “Beng” Mercado doing vocals and rhythm guitar, Serafin “Jun” Tinapunan on lead guitar, bass by Francis “Kix” Bordeos and drums by Jeff Almonte. They have established quite a following with the young Fil-Am audience who has been with them to gigs at C-Note, Kenny’s Castaways, Rebel, Teabag and the legendary CBGB, among others. Aside from the New York area, they have also performed at New Jersey and Maryland. Blue Mellon Pop’s single, “I’m Sorry,” appears in the cd, “Rock in the Box,” a compilation of music by independent Filipino-American artists released in New York.
