They would discuss music and then split up into various groups and play in one of the handful of small clubs lining the alley. Edison Machado, Dom Um Romao, Milton Banana, and Chico Batera were always the drummers of choice. Living in Los Angeles California in the '70s, he joined forces with his old friend from those days Sergio Mendes and thus began a successful career. A skilled vibraphone player as well, his CD, entitled LUME, offers exceptional insight into how far his musicianship has come.
