Matt McKillop and Owen Taylor devised DeepCitySoul out of their necessity and love for quality house music.
Influenced primarily by MAW, Llorca, Levan, Dennis Ferrer, Kerri Chandler and Blaze, the DeepCitySoul productions deliver a distinctive sound, blending aspects of soul and jazz with exceptional house and funk rhythms, championed by the likes of Tony Humphries, Miguel Migs and Dimitri from Paris among others.
A relatively fresh brand in the house music scene, the DeepCitySoul discography already includes releases and remixes on Universe Media, Universe City, GKF, Soul Heaven,ToolRoom, Pacha Multimedia, Miss Moneypennys Music, Muzik-K, Further Recordings and Citrus. They are now working under their own DeeCeeEss label (launched 2009), which sees them working with the likes of Pete Tong, Timmy Vegas, Graeme Park, The Fanatix, Stacy Kidd, Angie Brown, Kenny Thomas, Pauline Henry, Sybil, and Shola Ama to name a few.
DJing as the collective DeepCitySoul they have featured alongside Louie Vega, DJ Spen, Joey Negro, Norman Jay, Sasha & Digweed, Carl Cox among others for established events such as Global Gathering, Godskitchen (where they hold a monthly residency), The Factory, Café Mambo, The Rainbow, Pacha (Ibiza), Chuff Chuff, Miss Moneypennys, MOS, El Devino and The Garden Party (Croatia). They also run their own events under the same name as this show - ‘House is Home’, alongside a plethora of prominent UK residencies.
