1/ Denise Lopez was a freestyle\dance musician of the late 80's\early 90's era. In 1988, Denise released her debut album, "Truth in Disguise" which peaked at #184 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Her first single, "Saying Sorry (Don't Make it Right)" peaked at #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #6 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart. The second single, "If You Feel It," peaked at #94 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #22 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart. Another single, "Too Much Too Late" peaked at #21 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart in 1989.In 1990, Denise released her sophomore album, "Every Dog Has Its Day." The album didn't peak on the charts, but the single, "Don't You Wanna Be Mine" peaked at #86 on the Billboard Hot 100. After that, Denise has faded into obscurity. According to discogs.com, Denise has a fan-made MySpace page.
2/Denise Lopez aka DeDe grew up in Stockholm Sweden. She has three brothers and two sisters all spread out in the world. Oldest brother Arturo is a famous photographer in Los Angeles and in -97 shot the album cover of "I do". Sebastian, or "DJ ZEB" as he is called, is a famous DJ and producer in Sweden and has worked with DeDe, Meja, 666, Emilia and others. Youngest brother, Renato is a TV host in Los Angeles for NBC, he also play guitar in a band called, "The Prom Kings". Oldest sister Tiana who lives in Spain - was an actress who made movies with productions such as Disney, etc. She now lives in Spain and is involved with the “The Climate Project” (by Vice President Al Gore). Youngest sister Samatha is a jewlery designer and lives in New York. Her father, Renato Lopez is a music producer and was VP of Walt Disney Records Latin America Division for more than ten years, he worked with names like Phil Collins,Vanessa Williams and Sting among others. He now runs his own publishing company and jazz/blues bar in Playa Del Carmen, Mexiko called "The Jam Session". Her mother used to be a dance instructor with her own dance studio in Stockholm that she sold 2006. They were both singers in their youth.
Career
With hits like Party, My lover, Get to you and Everybody, DeDe has released four albums, TBA (1995), I do (1997), Metaphor (1999) and Like A Queen 2002, these sold over 500.000 copies.
DeDe was the only Swedish artist in Michael Jackson’s opening act in 1997 at Ullevi stadium in Sweden. With more than 500 000 albums sold, she has worked with world-class Pop producers and songwriters such as Anders Bagge (Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion), The famous Cheiron Team: Max Martin, Per Magnusson, David Kreuger & Andreas Carlsson (Celine Dion, Britney Spears, n´Sync, Backstreet Boys among others), Sean Barney Thomas (Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg) and others.
DeDe was contracted to Sony Music for five years (1994 - 1999). She was contracted as an exclusive songwriter to Air Chrysalis Scandinavia AB since 1993-2001. During this period she had had huge success as an artist/songwriter worldwide. Her albums has been released in important territories such as Japan, Southeast Asia and Scandinavia.
On November of 99 I went to Japan to do a show along with Diana King in the Tokyo Dome for two consecutive days. 100 000 people were watching those shows. The end of 99 brought a new challenge for DeDe, she started of her own label and by July of 2002 she released her fourth album in Japan (through Epic) under the title “Like a Queen”. 2003 saw the release of three singles as well as her first DVD collection.
In 2007 she released her single Turn you on feat Pras Michel (Fugees), a great sucess.
In November 2007 she did a tour together with Pras Michel in Estonia, Letvia, Finland, Denmark and Sweden. In December 2007 (13th & 15th) she did two shows at the biggest clubs in Beijing, Club Mix and Club Cargo. In december 2008 DeDe wrapped up her first live-band tour in China, a great success.
DeDe is also singing on DJ Swamis song Electro Jugni and the album went No.1 in India. DJ Swami also produced one track on DeDe´s forthcoming album.
After Turn you on made it to the top 2, she’s once again collaborates with Ghetto Superstar Pras Michel. I want it bad is written by Jonas Liberg (Alan Tam, Pirates of the sea, Charlotte Perelli, Carola, Jill Johnson, Shirley Clamp), DeDe (Max Martin, Anders Bagge, Kristian Lundin, Herbie Crichlow, Andreas Karlsson) & Pras Michel (The Fugees).
