The music Dun Dun play is basically instrumental guitar music. There are those who find them representing the genre tagged post-rock, math rock. Then there are those who have found it interesting how the drum n' bass rhythms and dance music elements have been integrated into the band's music. And there are those who tend to pay more attention to the soundscapes created by experimenting with their instruments and electronica during the live shows. Whoever is right, Dun Dun have been doing it their own way while developing a sound uncomparable to anyone in the Latvian temporary musical scene.
In 2006, the band spent some time in the Hodila Audio studio in Valmiera recording material later to be released as its untitled debut EP. The main intention behind the four-song record was to capture the sound which is both credible and homogeneous. In order to fulfill the intention all the tracks were recorded in single takes, a technique used to build the feeling in listener of a live sound while actually spinning a CD in his/her player. The result is the aforementioned EP released in 2007 by an independent record label SKYR.
To the date, Dun Dun have played with a number of bands local and foreign. Among the highlights gigs with artsy Americans Battles, hypnotic Boredoms from Japan and Icelandic Múm as well as uncountable shows and festivals in Latvia might be mentioned.
In 2012, the band have announced their reformation since their split in 2009.
