For six years, she recorded and toured with a band of owls (formerly Barefoot) until going solo in 2007.
She began to write songs in 1998, and formed Barefoot in 2001. The band released Road 2 (2002), The Rabelstein E.P. (2004), and Migration (2005). The band released Of wood and water, stars and song in 2006 under the name a band of owls.
Kelday released her debut solo album, titled, The Hitchin' Post, in 2009, her sophomore record, The Golden Mile, in 2014.
