Hailing from Brisbane's bayside JaKobe is an up and coming independent hip … Read Full Bio ↴Hailing from Brisbane's bayside JaKobe is an up and coming independent hip hop artist emerging on the Brisbane scene, he has recently come to the attention of the hip hop community through his performance during Sprung Festival 2011. JaKobe secured his place to perform at the festival through his impressive debut during Real Talk’s emcee competition; this year’s sprung line-up featured prominent aussie hip hop acts including Drapht, Funkoars, Illy and Pez & 360. His music is featured on Triple J’s Unearthed an award-winning initiative that is responsible for discovering and sharing the best new Australian music.
Jakobe’s first three tracks “Where’d You Go”, “Bounced Off Me” and “Stepping Out;” are the product of a hobby that has developed into a passion for hip hop music. One listen of Jakobe’s meaningful lyrics and you get a sense that this is one Brisbane local that has a huge future on the hip hop scene, there are few out there that can turn a phrase or string words together like this young artist.
