Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, Liz Cooper never dreamed she would be the Folk-Blues Singer-Songwriter she is today. In fact, from a young age, everyone believed she was going to be a professional golfer. Golf was just a hobby for her though; music had always been a passion. It was something that she only pondered and dreamed of but it wasn't until her senior year of high school that she decided she wanted to pursue music as a career. Leaving behind her friends, family and college golf scholarship, Liz Cooper packed her things and moved to Nashville, TN. After wandering around town for the first few months getting to know the local music scene she eventually found her niche at Nashville Music House Recording Studio. Not only is this where her EP "Monsters" was recorded and mixed, but also where she met a group of friends to begin The Stampede. Known for her unique guitar picking and haunting tone, she is steadily making a name for herself in the music industry. Self proclaimed “the happiest girl,” Liz ironically describes her lyrics as dark and soulful. Growing up on classic rock artists such as The Grateful Dead and The Band definitely plays into Liz Cooper’s music, as well as current artists such as Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and Rayland Baxter. Liz Cooper & The Stampede released their first EP in 2014.

GORGEOUS song, music. This is a kinda weird story. I called my VET today and was put on hold and “Me & My Mountain Man” started playing. The first words I heard was “When I’m old & grey”…I was INSTANTLY HOOKED. Unfortunately, it was not the greatest connection so I had to listen very carefully on high volume. I’d get a word or two or a phrase or two then mumbled. I finally heard what I thought might be the title “Me & My Mountain Man”. I made note real quick to attempt to FIND IT later and listen to its entirety. GLORY, GLORY, I FOUND IT! It has touched me to my core. You see, my husband of 46 years & I live in the VERY HOT state of TEXAS. We FOUND COLORADO as quickly as we could and now take a week or so every year in our anniversary month to go to the MOUNTAINS. Just he & I. We have 4 children, 4 grandchildren & 5 GREAT grandchildren, my parents still living, lost his dad a year ago & mom 5 years prior, a total of 5 sibs and their families. So as you can see our lives are rich and full. My hubby works so hard, about 80 hrs a week & has for 35 years. He’s an attorney so much of what he does is listen & counsel people legally. He is ALWAYS available to his clients, round the clock. I am a stay at home mom, gmom, ggmom, daughter, sister available for whomever has a need. Anyway, I LONG for him to RETIRE & us move to the mountains and for he & I to be “Me & My Mountain Man” holding hands, listening to the wind howl, growing old TOGETHER. Thank you for THIS VERY SPECIAL & ENDEARING SONG.
