Massadʼs alternative pop style is a combination of the rock, pop, jazz, electronic & other genres that he has been exposed to and involved with since an early age.
Massad has already shared the stage with renowned artists including Kids of 88, the Feelers, Elemeno P, Hollie Smith, Che Fu, Nesian Mystic, Andrew Fagan, Die Die Die, Jordan Luck and opened for Stan Walker. He has won multiple song writing and performance awards including the Lowdown Best Song Award at the national finals of the 2010 Smokefree Rockquest.
Already at the age of 17 Massad has become one of the youngest ever recipients of a NZ On Air - New Recording Artist grant. Massad has also had success at student level, with his single ʻSmileʼ hitting Number One Pop Song on the New Zealand MySpace charts, and he shared a spot on 95bFM with Kids of 88.
The first half of this year has seen Massad recording a number of singles for release during 2011 including his debut commercial release ʻTear My Heart Outʼ recorded in Melbourne and produced by Jan Skubiszewski (The Cat Empire, Daniel Merriweather)
ʻTear My Heart Outʼ is stunningly emotive song that got him to glory at the 2010 Rockquest and solidifies Massad as the head of a new breed of Kiwi songwriter
