If I Had a Gun...
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Lyrics
If I had a gun
I'd shoot a hole into the sun
And love would burn this city down for you
If I had the time
I'd stop the world and make you mine
And every day would stay the same with you
Give you back a dream
Show you now what might have been
For the tears you cried will fade away
I'll be by your side
When they come and say goodbye
We will live to fight another day
Excuse me if I spoke too soon
My eyes have always followed you around the room
'Cause you're the only god that I will ever need
I'm holding on
And waiting for the moment to find me
Hope I didn't speak too soon
My eyes have always followed you around the room
'Cause you're the only god that I will ever need
I'm holding on
And waiting for the moment for my heart to be unbroken by the sea
Let me fly you to the moon
My eyes have always followed you around the room
'Cause you're the only god that I will ever need
I'm holding on
And waiting for the moment to find me
If I had a gun
I'd shoot a hole into the sun
And love would burn this city down for you

If I had a gun,
I'd shoot a hole into the sun,
And love would burn this city down for you.If I had the time,
I'd stop the world and make you mine,
and everyday would stay the same with you.Aaahh
AaahhGive you back the dream,
And show you now what might have been,
If all the tears you cried would fade away.I'll be by your side,
When they come to say goodbye,
And we will live to fight another day.'Scuse me if I spoke too soon,
My eyes have always
Followed you around the room.
'Cus you're the only
God that I'll ever need,
I'm holding on and
Waiting for the moment to find me.Aaahh
Aaahh
Aaahh
AaahhHope I didn't speak too soon,
my eyes have always
followed you around the room.
'Cus you're the only
God that I will ever need,
I'm holding on and
Waiting for the moment
for my heart to be unbroken by the sea.Aaahh Aaahh

Good Guy
If I had a gun, I'd shoot a hole into the sun
And love would burn this city down for you
If I had the time, I'd stop the world and make you mine
And every day would stay the same with you
Give you back the dream, show you now what might had been
If all the tears you cry would fade away (away, away, away...)
I'll be by your side, when they come to say goodbye
We will live to fight another day
Excuse me if I spoke too soon
My eyes have always followed you around the room
'Cause you're the only god that I will ever need
I'm holding on and waiting for the moment to find me
Hope I didn't speak to soon
My eyes have always followed you around the room
'Cause you're the only god that I will ever need
I'm holding on and waiting for the moment for my heart to be unbroken by the scene
Let me fly you to the moon
My eyes have always followed you around the room
'Cause you're the only god that I will ever need
I'm holding on and waiting for the moment to find me
If I had a gun, I'd shoot a hole into the sun
And love would burn this city down for you
Crystalline Entity
Okay, here's my interpretation of the story. In the first video, 'If I Had A Gun...', Noel appears as the Priest at the wedding, because He is an Angel. He wears a white shirt, the colour of angelic purity. The bride's father (played by Timothy V. Murphy) doesn't competely approve of the man she is about to marry, but he is accepting her decision. I believe the mother of the bride is the same older woman who is one of the people in the diner in the second video, 'The Death Of You And Me' (AKA 'Catherine' from the comedic series Elders React). The two blonde demon chicks from the third video, 'AKA... What A Life!', are also present at this wedding, trying to steal human souls with their Soulsucker™ video camera. The groom places the wedding ring on the bride's finger, claiming possession of her... But just as they are about to kiss to seal their fate, a stranger rides in on a pony. This man is the woman's true soul-mate. Her father recognises this and obviously approves of this other man, and at his urging, she leaves the unfortunate groom at the altar. The Priest/Angel Noel shrugs, as if to say He cannot prevent her True Destiny. The woman dives into the pool, and so does the other man. They swim toward each other, meeting in the middle for a passionate kiss. The water symbolises spirituality, and their underwater kiss shows that they are true soul-mates. She then rides away with him for a new life... (For the record, I don't approve of anyone leaving their partner at the altar - NOT COOL. I would've preferred to see some evidence in the story showing that the groom-to-be was either abusive or unfaithful, which would actually justify the bride leaving him like that.)
In the second story, 'The Death Of You And Me', the Angel Noel appears in the diner where the Alice-in-Wonderland character works as a waitress. The diner is called 'Last Chance' (it's the last chance these characters have to be spiritually saved, before the end of their mortal lives). At first, Alice is just an ordinary waitress, living an ordinary life at an ordinary diner, in the middle of nowhere... But then, one day, Alice climbs up onto a stool, then up onto the counter. She is seeking a more spiritual life, on a higher plane. She starts to fall backwards, in a Christ-like crucifix pose... Noel, her Guardian Angel, is pushing her into a pool, backwards. He wears the white shirt, the colour of angelic purity. The water again symbolises spirituality, the push/fall into the water, a metaphor for baptism. By this baptism, the Angel leads Alice into a deeper level of spiritual consciousness and self-awareness. At the end, she dares to walk away from her ordinary life, to discover her true destiny (in her mind, she is falling backwards, into the Rabbit Hole of her spiritual journey). Her friends and colleagues wonder if she is crazy, as she walks away... Unfortunately, she makes the mistake of walking into the door of a carriage led by the first interesting/attractive Pied Piper parade that marches into town (a metaphor for following false religious cults and gurus). Note that the marchers and musicians look deathly pale, and are dressed in black and dark red, as if they are from the Underworld...
In the third video, 'AKA... What A Life!', at the very beginning appears a barn owl. Owls are often associated with the Underworld, in many religious traditions. (Fans of the film *Labyrinth* will recall that the Goblin King, who rules 'The Underground', shapeshifts into a barn owl.) Our protagonist's stumbling search to find her way on her spiritual journey attracts the interest of the Devil (Russell Brand dressed as the Mad Hatter, to the waitress's Alice). He lectures her about the nature of the Universe, of Yin vs. Yang, how good cannot exist without evil, that light cannot exist without darkness. His dark lair is filled with the colours of black and dark red, the very opposite of our innocent protagonist's white and sky blue (but some objects in His lair are blue, as if to illustrate the Yin-Yang principle). With the help of His 'nieces' (demons), He forces her to drink His toxic elixir - a metaphor for dangerous cult gurus brainwashing hapless individuals into following them, leading them astray. But the Devil is suddenly interrupted by a blinding vision of Alice's baptism in the pool by her Guardian Angel. "It's Noel Gallagher!" The force of the vision removes Alice from the Devil's lair, back into the Real World, where she is stumbling around, lost...
The Devil quickly sends His demon chicks to go look for Alice in the Real World. One of the demons wears a top that says 'Low Flying Owls', which refers to her status as a servant of the Underworld (and is also a pun on 'High Flying Birds'). Owls are also birds of prey. They need a vehicle, so they steal one from a couple of gullible men who are seduced by the demon chicks' good looks. There is a naked Barbie doll hanging by her long blonde hair from the car's dashboard, she is trussed up in rope (symbolising Evil luring and trapping the Innocent).
Meanwhile, the Angel is also trying to locate Alice. Alice wakes up in the middle of the desert, she is trying to remember how she got there, and is stumbling around, confused. She has realised that the spiritual path she took is the wrong one, and is desperate to escape. The two demons finally find her in the desert. They grab her, knock her out with a chloroform-like substance, and throw her in the boot of their car. More owl imagery.
Noel appears at a truck stop. He has a vehicle that is sky blue (like Alice's dress, and the opposite of the Devil's dark red), and He is pretending that the car has broken down. He asks the demon chicks if they could give Him a lift. They think He's cute (lol!), so they let Him in. In the back seat, He finds their Soulsucker™ videocamera, and trains it on them. They seem to have forgotten that it's a soul-trapping machine, or maybe they're not afraid because they don't think they have souls, or perhaps they are vain about their hot looks and want to be recorded. Eventually, they get erased from the Real World and disappear into the videocamera. The Angel locks the videocamera inside a sturdy box, and binds it in chains for good measure. He then goes to the back of the car and opens the boot, rescuing a crying and grateful Alice. She gets into the passenger seat, and Noel, her Guardian Angel, drives her on the correct path, the righteous path, and she is finally safe and happy... ~ The End ~
