Although the name of the 'band' stands for something you could easily be convicted of and jailed for, and despite the fact that everyone seem to misinterpret is as an explicit incite to boy-loving, the main purpose is rather humorous - despite its allegedly bad taste.
Musically speaking, Pedofilia is a crossover between raw grindcore (as heard in older songs) and thrash metal (as heard in its final course of existance). Recorded mainly with a heavily distorded / poorly mixed electric guitar and electronic drums, it features its mastermind shrieking wildly without the aid of digital effects on his voice. The tunes are short, rarely crossing the two-minute line.
All the songs by Pedofilia are 'equipped' with funny TV and movie samples, mostly from Luís Carlos Alborghetti (Brazilian TV-reality-police-case-show presenter/politician) and Alexandre Frota (Brazilian all-in-one-hack / pornstar / politician / Late night Tv show host). Despite the "screamathon" delivered, the songs have actual lyrics - most of them dealing with twisted psychopats e crimes against children, but also raving about toilet humor.
The first single released was "Garoto de Sorte" (which stands for "Lucky Boy"), which was actually recorded with a bass guitar, along with a couple of other tunes. When the electric guitar finally came along, the songs gained more complex structures, overdubs and harmonized melodies.
Pedofilia actually released a CD, "Festa Na Piscina de Bolinha" ("Party In The Ball Pool"), featuring remakes of older songs and a handful of new ones. It was the project's swansong before it came to and end.
