(Spoilers ahead) This is honestly one of the best moment for me in gaming. Booster was dead, everyone else I knew was missing, and my best friend died so I could live. Egg Corridor was a wreck, and at the end of all the wreckage was Kazuma, the person I knew who was alive. Then we get to the question of if I want to escape. I sat there for a good minute wondering what I should say. Then I realized that if I left, I knew the Doctor would win, and after all that stuff I went through, there was no way I was going to let him live. So, I said no, and proceeded to climb the wall, while all these though went thoughts my head. I was going to kill the doctor, and save everyone, and avenge all those who were harmed because of his selfish desires...

This is why this is my favorite game ever.

Out of all the videogames I've played in my life... and all the soundtracks following them... this is one of the very few that's always stuck to me. This soundtrack is absolutely wonderful and words simply can't explain how much I love this. This game in its entirety is an absolute masterpiece and it'll always have a huge part in my heart. Cave Story is one of the best videogames to ever be created... its beauty is inimaginable. Amazing work... I'll cherish this forever.

I remember when I first listened to Doctor from Homestuck and thinking this is familiar somehow. It took me to do another playthrough of this game 2 years after the original to realize that Doctor sounded like and was based off of this song. I love it when Cave Story music pops up elsewhere. This game has the one of the best soundtracks IMO.

This is hands down my favorite track in the entire game. Like almost everyone else, in my first play through I chose the bad ending (running away with Kazuma) and I fucking regretted it right after I chose it. But yeah, you're pretty much bull's eye with the description.

I played Cave Story to death and also played many Mods like Jenka's Nightmare and Iron Bond(this game is fucking insane, if you feel especially masochist try it, it is around Hell/Santuary level from pretty early on. I only managed to go 'til the final boss but I could never do it... it is even said that to play this game you should have the skill level to complete the entire Ballos part in 3 minutes, but even if you haven't you can manage for a while) and I think that Jenka's Nightmare is incredible. I not only consider it a sequel to the original one completing its story, but its level design is reaaaaally good. It actually consider it a plain Cave Story 2.0, a better version of the original

I loved climbing the side of the island (I assume this is it to get to the plantation). the level was peaceful and to me not too hard (compared to hell) and I enjoyed it almost to the point this was my favourite area in the game. Also never went for the bad ending.

The Egg Corridor pissed me off so much when I went through it, because of all the ways you could instantly die and the lack of save points, then you went on to fight the Sisters, who were really frustrating until I managed to get through the Corridor with most of my health left and the Bubbler at level 3. Then you reach the Outer Wall. Cue Moonsong. My eyes watered up.

Ultimate Cave Story challenge: You can get all the life capsules, weapons, expansions, and items you want. But, you can't save. So, beat the whole game (including sanctuary and ballos) without dying once.

I remember doing that like 4 years ago when I would only play cave story. I forgot to save andcjust kept on playing due to some addition or something, or I could have been just too lazy to save back then. Either way, it was somehow done. I can't do that anymore now, and it makes me wonder how addiction turns people into machines that makes you sit in front of a flashy screen for 6 hours per day.

@EPiCHearts you can't blame him. The odds of beating the Doctor, who just happened to become a Demigod mind you, were slim to none. Most of everybody you knew just died or have gone missing. Who wouldn't want to get out of there at the first instinct? The epilogue even reflected the thoughts going on inside your head (or at least for me imho)

I hope this song is than also on the 3DS version. maybe that version helps Cave Story to become as popular as it should be

I can feel you, even being a brony myself sometimes my sidebar of suggestions just gets filled up with non-relating pony stuff instead of new music when I'm music surfing. Same thing happened when skyrim was big though and stuff. But I feel ya man. Peace out and thanks for being civil.
