Komor, has been active as a musician and a graphic artist since 1989. Releasing demo tapes under the name Melt. His interest for alternative electronic music grew stronger. Back then the equipment used was very limited according to today's standards. The use of a 4-track tape recorder and 2 analog synths (Roland SH-09 and Korg Polysix) basically was what generated the sound back then. Not even midi was used then, so many of the songs were recorded live, with no options of quantizing the recordings.
Couple of years later more equipment was bought and further exploration into the alternative sonic world began, now also introduced to the power of Midi on an Atari 1040. Sebastian's influences at that time were mostly of the dark nature of electronic music, listening to bands such as Frontline Assembly, Front242, Nitzer Ebb, Delerium, Noise Unit, GGFH, got him turning knobs to find out how the masters did it. He also listened (still do) to more "pop'ish" music as Depeche Mode, Jean Michel Jarre, Erasure and so forth. He likes to be openminded regarding what music to explore and enjoy. Bjork, Chris Isaak, even Fear Factory , Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie and Rammstein are among the Cd collection.
Around 1995 the interest for more techno/club friendly sound caught Seb's attention. Of course it took a while to get used to the 4 on the floor kick and the 909 Offbeat. But now it has become a necessity in Seb's path into creating a floorfilling track. So due to this new sonic path Seb started this new project focusing more on techno oriented soundscapes and grooves. Back then it was named Sector9, shortly after, the final current name Moonitor was chosen to be the right name for the project. Couple of years down the line Seb hooked up with his now partner in Icon Of Coil, Andy LapLegua. They both started experimenting with Sector9, and nearly landed a deal with Virgin Records in Norway, also remixing Lene Marlin's superhit single Sitting Down Here. The remix itself never got released, but it sure opened a few rusty doors.
In 1998 while Seb was experimenting and creating new tracks for his Melt project, while also working on Sector9, Andy started messing around with some ideas that later turned into the very successful band Icon Of Coil. At this time the guys set up a decent studio in a basement of a Cultural Activity house called St.Croix, in Fredrikstad, Norway. Sebastian was not very involved in the beginning, but on the first Icon Of Coil release "Shallow Nation", released by Tatra Records, he added some grooves and melody lines and let his ears go through the criticism of a finished product. This release opened some more doors for Seb and Andy, and now they focused more on Icon Of Coil as a deal for a EP and a album was signed with Tatra Records. The friends and partners got more gear as a result of that deal, in order to be able to dig deeper into the world of electronic music.
Slowly the Xenomorph name was being established as Seb and Andy started to get some worldwide recognition for their work. They also programmed and co-produced Apoptygma Berzerk's super club hit "Starsign" from the APB album "Welcome To Earth" . The duo also started to get a bunch of remix requests as the IOC sound was getting "hot" around Tellus. The Xenomorph studio relocated to another building in Fredrikstad due to some beaurocratical madness at the Curtural Activity place. Around this time Sector9 was the opening act for the very recognized Norwegian GothRock band Seigmen (now Zeromancer).
The first full length album recorded in Xenomorph Studio was named "Serenity Is The Devil" and it was released back in 2001. The album got top notch reviews and was praised by the EBM/hard electro generations. Topping alternative charts all around the globe.
