While her career spans diverse music genres, her heart truly belongs to gospel. In 2007, Shari appeared on Black Entertainment Television’s (BET) premier broadcast of the gospel talent competition, Sunday Best and placed second. Her powerful performances helped BET garner the highest rated gospel show in its history with a voting audience of more than 1.5 million viewers. Subsequently, she appeared on BET’s Celebration of Gospel that featured recording luminaries Pastor Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond and Patti LaBelle. Currently under contract with the Zomba Gospel music label, Shari was showcased as guest recording artist at the Bobby Jones International Gospel Artists Retreat. Other recent performances include Praise The Lord, a Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) presentation. Shari has performed with artists Kirk Franklin, Martha Munizzi, Bebe Winans, Mary Mary, Michael McDonald, Yolanda Adams, Marvin Sapp and Stephanie Mills. A highly accomplished vocalist and theatre actress, her extensive domestic and international career includes performances at Carnegie Hall and in South Africa, Russia and Brazil. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley’s Office of Special Events is host to Gospel Fest, one of the nation’s largest gospel festivals; and in 2000, Shari was showcased at the fest in Grant Park. She returned to this annual event in 2008 to a packed house and rave reviews at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. Additionally, she has performed on Chicago’s FOX and WGN television networks. A native of Chicago, Shari is a minister and psalmist at the Bright Star Church of God in Christ where Superintendent Christopher T. Harris, Sr. is the pastor. She is married to Lewis Addison and they have four daughters.
