Beyond the requisite stage presence and outrage, punk works best when it has both a sense of politics and whimsy, and these are qualities the Worcester punk band SLITSTITCH has in spades. There’s a sort of abandon and absurdity in songs such as “Antisexual,” “Freedom War Machine” and “End of the Line,” a sense of screaming and laughing at the same time. And frankly? It’s kind of awesome... Sometimes, it’s easy to hate the bands that sort of knocked audiences’ ideas of punk rock into tiny categories: The bands such as GREEN DAY and THIRD EYE BLIND that pushed it squarely into the pop arena, sure, but even the amazing bands such as MINOR THREAT and BLACK FLAG, who defined the hardcore sound so much that anything that wasn’t hardcore seemed … well … not punk. But punk was always as much about individuality and creating music outside of the corporate agenda as it was about volume. Perhaps that’s why Worcester punk band SLITSTITCH resounds so well. SLITSTITCH always has a sense of musicality inside the aggression, a sense of humor and politics entwined with thrashing guitars." - Victor D. Infante, Worcester Telegram & Gazette
"SLITSTITCH has come to be known in underground circles as Massachusetts' best kept secret. Their understanding of melody, dissonance, and the fast-paced breeding of the two would easily earn them a place of honor among any so-called punk band to emerge within the last 20 years; and yet, their unique attitude and lyrical agility, combined with the bitter soulfulness entwined into every raw chord they furiously pound out, clearly has more in common with the pre-boom acts of the 70s and 80s. Their refusal to be labelled as anything but a rock and roll band could equally cast them as being punk's saviors or destroyers." -Karina Shanks, Recordspin Review
"SLITSTITCH is the real deal. These guys are raw, loud, offensive, and honest to the point of cruelty. The band spits and seethes with enough energy and attitude to distract the average listener from the intelligence, passion, and deftness of craft they posses at their core. If anyone can whip punk rock back into shape? It's SLITSTITCH." - Josh "Mosh" Levitz, Scab Coach Zine
