Although he listened to a great variety of musicians, he has always been inspired by acoustic guitar music and influenced by Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. Dave continues to play rock, slide, and acoustic guitar music, but became seriously interested and immersed in the Delta Blues in ’99.
Today, Dave often uses the “Strummindog” alias and considers himself a “delta blues style” guitarist. Dave’s main guitars are a 1929 National Triolian steel body, single cone resonator and a 1994 Gibson
J-45 banner model. His playing is influenced by Son House, Charley Patton, and Mance Lipscomb, as well as many other Delta Blues musicians. He is also influenced by some of today’s best contemporary acoustic blues musicians, such as Cory Harris, Steve Arvy, John Hammond, and Alvin Youngblood-Hart, just to name a few.
Dave has performed with a local group known as “Belly Meat” and local bluesman Lee Asnin
