The band formed at a year 10 sleepover after watching School of Rock, and after turning heads in triple j’s Unearthed High competition have gone on to share stages with some of the country’s most exciting names, all the while navigating adolescent pressures and graduating high school.
Performing alongside acts such as Polish Club, Northeast Party House, Alex Lahey, Press Club, Spiderbait, and WAAX, plus scoring a national support run with Slowly Slowly on their ‘Jellyfish’ tour, Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers have their Doc Martens firmly planted at the forefront of Australia’s indie scene.
Last year also delivered a fruitful festival run including Groovin’ The Moo, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Falls Festival, Lost Paradise, Spilt Milk, and Stonefest, on top of an at-capacity showcase at BIGSOUND which landed them atop many a list of ones to watch.
Now Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers reveal their first single of the new year, ‘Desk Chair’, which follows a theme of self-sabotage and chasing mundane forms of affection through the personal insecurities experienced during one’s teen years.
With a whole lot of love for both each other and their audiences, and a whole lot more in store, Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers are a name you need to know.
The bands debut full-length album I Love You was released on October 6, 2023.
Anna Ryan on vocals
Scarlett McKahey on guitar
Neve van Boxsel beating the skins
Jaida Stephenson on bass

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers Lyrics
AHHHH! I've been thinking about what's right I know you don't know…
Backseat Driver I still get lost Walking down my street In the night I don't…
Bull Dragon You scream I shout But I can't seem to get words out I'm…
Desk Chair I wish my train was always late So you could sit…
Girl Sports It's not hard to Think of all the times that you Shouted…
I Love You I love you, I love you Leave my socks on when…
I Want It All My ego's bigger than I thought I think I'm gonna break…
I Want It All! My ego's bigger than I thought I think I'm gonna break…
Lights Out My feet are sticking on the floor And I can see…
Miss Your Birthday On the couch out the front of your share house Was…
Never Saw It Coming In 7 years I'll be okay Coz that's when my cells…
Salt Hang my legs off the edge Like nobody told me it…
See You In A Bit It′s been going on so long I've lost track of…
Treat Me Better Stack them up This pile's getting harder to take And I'll…
Up To Summit You must be up to something Something to leave with nothing…
Your House My House Can't get up keep falling down My head's filled up with…
