With roots in Sacramento, Bryant took his darker '80s and '90s rock leanings down to San Francisco where he has absorbed more of the fun, laid back folk and pop of his friends in fellow SF Bay bands like The Blank Tapes, fpodbpod and Ash Reiter, topped off with a hint of Johnny Cash's rockabilly drawl, a splash of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' kicked-up blues, and the roving gypsy vibe of bands like Devotchka and Beirut. After finally solidifying a regular core band in December of 2010 (Jake Nochimow on drums, Zach Rubin-Rattet on guitar and Mike Fortes on bass, along with a rotating cast of string, brass and keyboard players when they're available), The Beehavers went straight to work in 2011 playing a string of exciting Bay Area shows, winning The Deli Magazine's San Francisco "artist of the month" poll in June 2011 in the process.
