As children they were brought up on ska and soul, the music their father Bill Cranstoun was instrumental in introducing to London, with his Savoy Sound System at several locations in the 60โs including regular nights at the Swan & Sugar Loaf in Croydon, The King Alfred in Sydenham and The Bedford Arms in Balham. Their mother Jacqueline, born in Sierra Leone, who met Bill at the Locarno Ballroom in Streatham, was pulled into work the cloakrooms and to keep an eye on him!
Si and Tyber remember โGrowing up in our house we were listening to The Blues Busters, Lord Creator, Stranger Cole, Bob Marley, The Skatalites, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding to name a fewโ
The family lived all across the south east whilst the boys were growing up including Bromley, Canterbury, Croydon, London and Penge as such all these places feel like their home town. Tyber currently lives in Greenwich, London and Si in Caterham, Surrey.
Music has always been Si and Tyberโs first love and upon leaving school Simon pursued music as a career and he enjoyed some success. Tyber attended the elite Guildhall School of Music and Drama also attended by Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor and after some television success Tyber decided to join his brother singing on the streets.
Whenever they have performed they have had a phenomenal response whether on the streets or in clubs their lively and charismatic performance has blown audiences away.
Their debut single โKiss On The Lipsโ entered the charts on Sunday 24th October 2004 at number 21 ahead of established artists such as Bjork and Slipknot and this has sent a shockwave throughout the music industry. Despite no national coverage or airplay, the single stayed in the charts for a second week at number 33.
Amazingly, they did this with only the help of a small group of friends. They had no record contract, no distributor, no agent, no manager and no promoter!

Don't go
The Dualers Lyrics
You've being looking in the wrong direction, but your prayers hasen't being invain
Can't you see that the answer to your question, is right here calling out your name
Don't wanna see you hurting no more, don't wanna see you crying... it's time to face the future for sure
All you gotta keep on trying
Don't go... your troubles always follow you, it wil be rough and tough on de road alone
Don't go... gonna make the sunshine bright for you now, beter to stand together then on your own
You've being saying that your heart grows colder, manny worries try to hold you down
Rest you're heavy burden on my sholder, and I know that we can work things out
Don't wanna see you hurting no more, I don't wanna see you crying... cause it's time to face the future for sure
All we gotta keep on trying
Don't go... your troubles they will follow you, it wil be rough and tough on de road alone
Don't go... gonna make the sunshine bright for you now, beter to stand together then on your own
Musical break
Don't wanna see you hurting no more, don't wanna see you crying... it's time to face the future for sure
All you gotta keep on trying
Don't go... your troubles they will follow you, it wil be rough and tough on de road alone
Don't go... gonna make the sunshine bright for you now, beter to stand together then on your own
Beter to stand together then on your own
Beter to stand together then on your own

Super sound, the greatest Ska band ever is right! They are awesome.ย The Dualers is a ska / reggae band from Croydon, England formed in 1999 by brothers Tyber and Si Cranstoun. They are best known for their top 30 hit singles "Kiss on the Lips" and "Truly Madly Deeply", and for building a grassroots following via street performances.
Despite the departure of Si Cranstoun, the band continue to gig regularly. The band was formed in 1999 by the Cranstoun brothers, who were influenced by their father Bill, a pioneering ska DJ in the 1960s. After graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they began performing on the street as a duo.
On 24 October 2004 their debut single "Kiss On The Lips" entered the UK Singles Chart at # 21. This was followed in 2005 by "Truly Madly Deeply", which them a second UK hit single, reaching # 23.
A third single, "Don't Go", was released in 2006, accompanied by the band's debut album, The Melting Pot. Because a proportion of these sales were not counted towards the chart due to a technicality, the single only charted at # 61.[citation needed] The band continued to tour, including a support slot for The Blockheads.
In late 2010 Si Cranstoun left the band to pursue a solo career.
The British movie, Fool's Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, featured The Dualers version of "Truly Madly Deeply".
I sure wish Si Cranstoun would do more music with the Dualers.... they have their own unique sound when they sing together. ย
