They have never been to New York, but might like to do a few gigs there in the future. They haven't ever robbed anyone either. The band was formed in May 2008 and comprises of Lehza (16) and Hein (19), who also happen to be brother and sister (although TNYR performs live as a 4-piece band).
Lehza and Hein like to make feel-good indie rock that any happy people can dance to. Their music can also be described as "indie with a twist". Among their influences are The Ting Tings, The White Stripes, Fire Through the Window, Japan and I, The Killers, merry-go-rounds and hula-hoops.
The band's debut EP (released Dec 2008), titled "8-Bit Heroes", was recorded in pajamas whilst drinking copious amounts of tea and continually having to tell Dougie (their cute talking dog who features on the first track, "Mom") to stop talking so much in between takes. No puppies were harmed during the recording however – only hugged.
