The Release is an energetic and dynamic 4-piece rock band from Boston, MA. The band creates catchy, hook-filled songs that mix elements of everything from 90's Alternative, Classic Rock, Prog, Funk, Punk and Reggae. They have been compared to The Police, Elvis Costello, No Doubt, Foo Fighters, RHCP and Incubus.
The band started in 2000 under the name 3 Feet Short, when the members were all in high school. Since then, the band has independently released 3 CD's and a DVD, opened for national acts like State Radio, Badfish, Goldfinger, The Beautiful Girls, Bayside, Zox, Catch 22, The Pietasters, Nate Wilson Group, MC Lars, and Monty Are I, among others at venues all across the east coast, playing over 500 shows in total. The band moved to Boston and changed their name to THE RELEASE in 2007, and put out their first EP under the new name in February of 2009.
The band is currently recording a new full-length album, which will be out in late 2011.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Release, a group of ambitious and energetic young musicians, is a four-piece rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area. The band’s aspirations and drive for success have pushed them to self-produce and distribute their debut album. The artistic chemistry between the four members allows them to continue to grow and develop as a band and as individuals. Each member is a vital element that completes the structure of the band.
They formed with a simple, mutual goal: to create quality and lively rock music. With dynamic rock changes and reggae influences, The Release uses uplifting and positive energy complimented with soothing melodies to create a new sound in rock. Individually, the members have unique attributes that contribute to the band and add to the creative process. Lead guitarist Ross Walker, an exceptional music theorist who strives for perfection in the studio, is an invaluable asset in the development of their music. Singer and guitarist Brian Coe, with his quirky yet creative song writing skills, writes fun-loving lyrics and ear-catching melodies. The contrasting styles of these artists lay the foundation for their sound. Drummer Louie Sehgal, with his focus and precision, keeps a solid tempo during their performances. Their laidback bassist Danny Herrera compliments their rhythm section while being a source of energy on-stage and a calming presence in the studio. These respective characteristics and their personal and professional appreciation for one another allow the band to express themselves musically.
While the release of their debut album “Whole Night Through” in November 2009 embodies the band’s hard work over the last year, they have no plans for slowing down. The Release continues to find exciting venues and new fans, as they pursue opportunities to spread their music across the country. Their dedication to their passion is represented by the sheer effort they put in their craft. They are humbled to know each other, yet motivated and determined to share their talent and sound with the masses.
