1. The Volunteers is an alternative indie rock band based in Seoul, South Korea which formed in 2018. The band is composed of Yerin Baek (lead vocals, guitar), Cloud (real name: Koh Hyung Seok (bass, band master)), Jonny (real name: Kwak Minhyuk (lead guitar)) & Kim Chiheon (lead drums). Yerin prior to The Volunteers was apart of a duo called 15& and has her own solo career alongside the band.
In 2018, the group dropped their EP Vanity & People and their single Radio a year later, all of which were leading up to their eponymous debut album that released May 21st, 2021.
Taking influence from acts like Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Avril Lavigne, Tokyo Jihen, and The Beatles, The Volunteers brings a refreshing take on rock music, one that's sonically reminiscent of early 90s VH1 music videos and teenage rebellion.
