Meanwhile, Malcolm Moore (guitars, bass, keyboards, vocals) was playing the bass and keeping his mouth shut with a thousand different artists from The London Sinfonietta to James Blunt. He thought it might save his soul if he played Rose’s music for a while.
The result is the extraordinary debut album, ‘To Love’ – recorded in their home studio and first self-released in July 2008 through their MySpace page. It’s now available through AWAL from iTunes where it’s building a devoted, global following.
‘To Love’ was heralded by ‘The Big Takeover’ magazine (issue 63) in the U.S. as music of ‘the kind that forces you to think of days gone and pine over good things past ... a special female voice’.
They love to perform live as a flexible multi-instrumental ensemble, from duo to full seven-piece band.
Rose and Malcolm are joined on their album, and in live performance, by friends & like-minded musicians including Natalie Clein (cello), Susanna Warren (clarinets), Patrick Duffin (guitars / vocals), Paul Mason (percussion/keyboards) & Simon Pearson (drums).
At the end of 2008, themillionstars further impressed with their debut performance at High Barn, Essex, and garnered airplay on BFBS, BBC Essex and BBC 6Music.
