Uncle Donnie plays what he calls SHARECROPPER MUSIC (Piedmont blues & roots country) the music that his mother would have listened to as the daughter of a sharecropper in the 1920s and 30s.
Don "Uncle Donnie" Miller Released his first 45 "Loving You" in 1970. He followed this up with: "Voice From The Sky" 1971, "Heading Unto The Wind" 1972, "Out In The Country" & South Dakota Lady" 1977 (both with L.W. Brinson), and "Don't Be Forgetting me now" 1978. He spent the next 10 years playing bass and studying under blues singer/guitarist Richard "Big Boy" Henry. In the 90s Don Miller wrote Piano and Poetry. Starting in 2001 He started teaching and writing music lesson books. In 2008 Don Miller starting writing songs again, and started performing as "Uncle Donnie" 1n 2009. His latest songs include 2008's "Where Have All The Jobs Gone" in the Piedmont Blues style. 2009's "(Say It Ain't So) How Can You Be So Cruel"
