Following a successful debut gig at Hinckley FC Club in October of that year, Iain departed the band and was replaced by James Marshall. The Band later performed more consecutive gigs at the Albany Social Club, Coventry in December 2005 and January 2006, The Battle of the Bands at Kenilworth Youth Centre in April 2006 and then their final performance at the Beaver's Bar in Summer 2006. From February 2006 onwards, Dan Parker replaced George Jacob on Drums.
Based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, UK, they were an unsigned band that played a number of famous metal covers, most famously "Killing In The Name", "Flight Of Icarus", "Devil Is A Loser", "Enter Sandman" and "Vain Glory Opera". They also had some of their own material to offer, including "Blood On The Streets". They once famously performed a tribute to Queen's birthday in 2006 by playing a cover of the British national anthem.
As of September 2006, Valkea ceased to exist as a band when Oliver Went left the band and since then, each of the band members have gone on to do their own separate musical projects. The band's website is www.myspace.com/valkea, where their tracks are available for listening.
