I swear she doesn’t get the vocal credit she deserves. Almost the entire song is sung in her lower register. I don’t think people understand how difficult it is to stay down there for that long. It requires lot of breath support and control.

I agree completely. I loved her voice .. but I could be wrong but I think some don’t like her voice as a Singer because it wasn’t a Strong , Powerful , Louder Voice like Whitney Houston had or Aretha Franklin .. Aaliyah’s was a lot more Soft and Sultry . It definitely fit her though . There are a few songs though where her Vocal Ability was a lot more Prominent and Shined through.
