It's Gonna Rain
Rev. Milton Brunson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Can't you see the clouds gathering
Don't let it be said too late
There's a brand new feeling in the air
Better run to the ark before the rain starts

You better come on in this house
It's gonna rain
It's gonna rain (Repeat)
Doors have been
Opened wide open, just call his name
Don't wait too late because it's gonna rain

Come on, follow me, it's gonna rain (Repeat)

Doors have been
Opened wide open, just call his name
Don't wait too late because it's gonna rain

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Rev. Milton Brunson's song "It's Gonna Rain" convey a warning message about a coming storm. The opening line, "Can't you see the clouds gathering," suggests that there are signs of the impending rain, and the urgency in the following line, "Don't let it be said too late," emphasizes the importance of taking action before it's too late. The next line, "There's a brand new feeling in the air," suggests that things are changing, and there's an opportunity to prepare for what's coming.

The chorus, "You better come on in this house, it's gonna rain," is an invitation to seek shelter and find safety before the storm hits. The repetition of "It's gonna rain" adds to the urgency of the message. The next line, "Doors have been opened wide open, just call his name," suggests that there's a place of refuge available, and all one needs to do is ask. The final line, "Don't wait too late because it's gonna rain," emphasizes that time is running out, and action needs to be taken immediately.

Overall, the lyrics to "It's Gonna Rain" are a powerful call to action. They provide a clear warning about a coming storm and emphasize the importance of taking action before it's too late. The repeated invitation to "come on in this house" and the reminder that "doors have been opened wide open" suggest that there's a place of safety and refuge available, and all one needs to do is ask.

I remember this song from when I was about 9 yrs old and I am glad I found it because this is from my childhood memories (I am 50 yrs old now) We were made to go to church to hear "THE WORD" I can feel that pressing comb heat now on my hair, and neck!! (What great memories I have) and after church, we had family and friends come over to eat or we will go to their house to eat soul food. This is what this world need NOW.
