Saturday Night Out
The Searchers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Outside my window, I can hear the radio,
And I know that motor wagon is ready to fly,
'Cause it's almost Saturday night.

Bye bye, tomorrow, Jody's gone to the rodeo,
And you know some good old boys are ready to ride,
'Cause it's almost Saturday night.

[Chorus]
Gonna push the clouds away, let the music have it's way,
Let it steal my heart away, and you know I'm-a-goin'!

Outside the ringing, the night train is bringin' me home,
When you hear that locomotion get ready to ride,
'Cause it's almost Saturday night.

[Chorus]

Outside the ringing, the night train is bringin' me home,
When you hear that locomotion get ready to ride,
'Cause it's almost Saturday night.
Oh yeah!

I love the Searchers,great guitar sounds.You don't need solos to have great guitar songs.Today's music is a drag.

@lynnglidewell7367

Agreed. You don't have to have solo lead guitar breaks for a fantastic guitar sound. Some of the most memorable guitar tunes ever recorded are rhythm driven.

@geoffm9944

The superb voice of Tony Jackson! He will never be forgotten!

@allenkracalik7662

Great clip of the original lineup. A dirty shame this initial incarnation of the group, one of my all-time favorites, was so short lived!

@bryanpalmer9660

Excellent song Tony was a great singer this one should have been an "A" side

@geoffm9944

The one and only Tony Jackson, as lead singer. He had a great voice, indeed one of the best lead singers of the 60’s. Chris Curtis the drummer, froze him out of the group which was a serious mistake. Jackson had the last laugh as Curtis himself was forced to leave a couple of years later!

@theoutsider4066

Yes indeed, the late Tony Jackson ... one of the best lead vocals of the 60's

@mandyjohnson1109

My theme song as a kids in Liverpool. Had to have John Mc play this when they toured the US ...his response backstage was "G'won - 'aven;t played this in years" - my true Scouse hero..Happy retirement lads. Our generation was happy...

@Topper954

@Tonetwisters
