Cvet z juga
Alenka Gotar Lyrics

Ne sprašuj kako bom brez tebe
Daj ga na prsi svoje
Naj spomin ti bo na mene
Moj beli cvet
Moj daljni svet
Daj, vrni se
Moj bodi spet
Za vedno vse moje
V življenju tvoje je
Cvet z juga, blizu morja še
Jaz čakam te
Še čakam te
Ljubim, nekaj česar več ni
Le privid si mi iz daljnih dni
Moj beli cvet
Moj daljni svet
Daj, vrni se
Moj bodi spet
Za vedno vse moje
V življenju tvoje je
Cvet z juga, blizu morja še
Jaz čakam te
Moj beli cvet
Moj daljni svet
Daj, vrni se
Moj bodi spet
Za vedno vse moje
V življenju tvoje je
Cvet z juga, blizu morja še
Jaz čakam te
Še čakam te
In Alenka Gotar's song "Cvet z juga," the lyrics are about a person who is giving a flower as a parting gift to their loved one. The first stanza asks the loved one to take the flower in their hand and not to ask how they will live without each other. The gift of the flower will serve as a reminder of the memories they shared. The second stanza talks about the white flower being the singer's world, and they want it back. The singer states that the flower is close to the sea, and they are waiting for their loved one to return. The chorus repeats the same lines about the flower being the singer's life and the loved one's whereabouts. The last two lines say that the singer is still waiting for their loved one's return.
The song seems to be a nostalgic love ballad, depicting the power and depth of love. The white flower that was given to the loved one represents their love, which the singer wants back. The singer is pining for their loved one and waiting for their return, but the loved one has moved on. The first stanza talks about how difficult it is to let go, and the second stanza describes how the singer's world revolves around their partner. The lyrics paint a picture of someone who is heartbroken and is hopeful to reunite with their loved one again.

I hope one day Ljubjana will host the Eurovision just in justice of all theses masterpieces that they sent. 15th place is undeserved here.

2001, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2023... all amazing songs and talented artists. And genre-shifting stuff. I don't understand it, either. If nothing else, 2023 produced a global phenomenon, despite the actual result at the contest.

Not only is everything here great.
You can just see how much fun she is having on that stage.
You don't often see someone smile like that

Slovenia always gets half of the points it actually deserves. Their entries are usually GREAT!
