This the most beautiful and relaxing piece of music I ever hear in my life. Jazz has a tendency to do that to a troubled mind. I LUV IT.

My girlfriend's roommate used to have this album in the '70s. It quickly became my favorite music to woo women, or just to relax to. Still is today. Shame not many people have heard of him.
Brad Alker
Jim Ducccilli it's a panty dropper LP for sure. ;-) I discovered him through listening to Steely Dan's Royal Scam LP.

I can relate. When I lived in the dorms at university I used to play this to " woo " the gals as well. I actually got to him perform this live when he and his band played at our school and they were fantastic! Dave Grusin was his keyboard player and John Herd was his bassist. A Long time ago.

John was way ahead of his time. He's like one of the very few sax players that puts me in a dreamlike trance.
Ernest Kovach
Best jazz sax instrumental ever...dreamy, romantic. powerful, soothing .The finest music by a great artist for unwinding, candle light dining, or slow dancing , ..or to put you in a dreamy state ....or yup ..you know this was coming : making Love! A masterpiece, timeless and truly great! Thank You dear God for giving us the talented Mr Klemmer and the entire Touch album.
David Tipton
Ernest Kovach well put sir!!
Michelle Baker
I second that
Swedish_IceQueen
Indeed!! I guess because I'm just a jazz lover, & I play Kenny G, Boney James, Chris Botti, Paul Taylor, etc at work all the time, I'd have never thought of it as being played during lovemaking. I definitely would, I just don't automatically associate it with that, but that's a good point!! I love how soothing jazz is, and when trying to get tasks done it keeps me mellowed 😉💓💖
sam powell
Ernest Kovach but it’s only 6 minutes. Lol jk ur right
Carl Bowles
Difficult to argue against your statement. This is still an awesome song.

Thank you for posting this. I was 16 when this came out. I purchased it from Peaches Records in St Louis, MO. They were playing it in the store and I was stunned by the clarity of the recording. ABC/Dunhill label did it right.

Imma say this. I’m 19 and my dad got me into John Klemmer when I was 14 and I still listen to this album on my record player. Such a fantastic album.
diamondluca1
This was one of the first smooth jazz albums at that time, it emerged from the jazz fusion of that era, still sounds good, this is why jazz really never loses its value, good stuff.
imbees2
Well before Kenny G. There was John Klemmer.
Glen Denig
In the fall of 91 hearing this guy for the first time changed the way I approached playing the saxophone for ever. This guy is contemporary jazz!
Johnny Collins
I remember hearing that song with my girlfriend, sitting outside on the hood of my 81 Grand Prix, looking at the stars. Dreaming of the future. Now been married for 38 years!!
raul macias
'75 seems like an eternity ago, but this still sounds so fresh! Great Tenor Saxophone by Klemmer and nice Fender Rhodes Electric Piano by Dave Grusin.
Joseph Giunta
It's great to see all the John Klemmer fans out there! I am one of you going on 40+ years and still listen to his music! I got his "The best of John Klemmer, Mosaic" CD and listen to it often. If you get a copy, read his message in the liner notes! It's very inspiring to hear an artist tell his audience his true feelings about improvisation, life, love, history, and the future, and his journey in this life!
indianhead1957
I've come to the right place...here I am again, a year later. Shows the magnetism of John Klemmer. (Daughter still playing sax too.)

Wow, mind blowing track. Can't believe I was only 13 when this came out. Thanks Mom and Dad, for sharing your great music with me.

I dated a young lady in college in the late 70’s, and this was our song when the mood struck. DC was a beautiful women from Illinois, and I screw things up by not giving her the attention and love she deserved. She married a brain surgeon and lives happily somewhere in Dallas.

The music simply takes you away to another place...so ethereal and divine.
Peter Mendelsohn
I ran a record store, Vinyl Donut, in Hawaii in the seventies. I was intrigued by the cover, played the album, fell in love, called all the djs I knew, asked them to play it, and it became a big hit with all the airplay. And it turned me on to John Klemmer's music.
theElusive
This song reminds me of riding in the car with mom and her having the wave playing....and looking out the window at life ....I miss my mom and this song reminds me of her so much love your Mom while shes still on this earth because one day youll only have memories of her . ✌📿

Veronica Hodgkinson
Found Klemmer in the early 1970's . Still LOVE HIM......

Yep, John Klemmer was my first exposure to Jazz, at age 18. Although I was still a hardcore Rock guy at that age, the 'Barefoot Ballet' album is still one of the Jazz albums I treasure.
imbees2
this was the bomb back in the 70's. So smooth, so hip
ERIC ROBINSON
A forever jazz classic.
mario perez
I don't remember how I came to John's music but so glad I did it changed what I listened to. We had a lot of radio stations willing to push the needle and I do mean the needle forward, not new age but great musicianship. Artistry, imagination, courage and skill put it together.
Stephen Babb
When I need to calm myself... This is it !! Will NEVER tire of it. I've been listening for 41 years. Thankyou John Klemmer.

Se eu só tivesse ouvido essa canção com John Klemmer já teria valido a pena! Muito bom, som apaixonante, intenso, que curto desde 1981 ou 82... Preferência total!
Songbird Titia
So smooth and relaxing
Moe Slaught
you R so right the best sax player ever.
Frank From Upstate NY
Such good music...I played this song on my own Alto whilst in Florida,...in a tiny little room that I rented in my 20's. It kept me going at the time. He had one of the smoothest flowing playing styles that I've ever heard. Just beautiful transitions...runs, fast, slow, trills, up and down...then mellow. He did it all.
TheHyperGamer!
I agree, it was my music in the late 70’s and still is wonderful
burlingtonbill1
Someone wrote that this song, this album, started the whole Smooth Jazz genre of music about 13 years before the name was coined. Whatever, like many people I realized it was extra special, back in 1976 when I first heard it in a stereo shop.
larry hoover
I'm jealous you got to experience the 70s. So much good came from that Era..
burlingtonbill1
jermom phat I'm sorry :-0 Another "discovery" in a stereo shop in 1975 was the first Fresh Aire album by Chip Davis' Mannheim Steamroller group. It caused a problem in record stores because they didn't know how to classify it. Eventually it was decided to call it "New Age."
Don Kellough
+burlingtonbill1 early Steamroller was classic and great!
burlingtonbill1
+Don Kellough agree!
Randy Calkins
After 30 years he's still my favorite

Still fresh as it was when I first heard it in 1975-76...my idea of a classic
Penny Klyber
Back in the 80s a wondrous man introduced me to this wondrous musician. The memories are magical. The relationship did not endure, but Klemmer music remains forever!
Anthony Anderson
This is a timeless album. A group of us as teenagers sat mesmerized by what we were hearing (the weed helped), but still!
Randall Genest
I first heard this about 1975 or 6. Love it. Ladies died over it while all they were listening to was hard rock. Yeah of course I did. A lot.
Samuel Pajoa
Great Song! Such a cool smooth jazz sound.
Lori Romano
Thank you! We have the LP still in pretty good condition. Love his playing.
Mike Banks
John Klemmer made the kind of music you didn't know you needed.
J.A. Armour
In 1980, I had a customized van with a great sound system & I would take my girlfriend out to O'Hare Field (airport) where we'd watch the planes take off & land at night of course, put this whole album on, drink Champagne & make love in the back of my van. Romantic? You bet it was! Thanks John Klemmer for your great mood music! Those were the days!
Charles Maeger
Can't help but hear large orchestral cymbals at various points in the music that make the sound even more deluxe than it already is.
Celestine Williams
Love this song

I'm so glad my sixth grade daughter is learning to play the sax in 6th grade! Another good reason to play John Klemmer loud!
Richard Cook
Have enjoyed John Klemmer since the 70's.I have gotten many people to become fans also. So light and uplifting for then and now.
Ken Serpico
Though I discovered this album years after it's release, this composition reminds me of my college days, staying up till three in the morning studying for finals and of my college sweet heart. Though we parted ways, it still brings good memories in more ways than one.
Mike Zack
John Klemmer is one of the most talented and ferocious sax players ever. His smooth jazz is great, but to hear the other side of JK's talent search on Nexus for Duo and Trio. It's a hard jazz masterpiece.
imbees2
I never forgot him. That’s for sure. One of my favorite artists.
Dawn D.
This is very nice. My first time listening to it 😊
D Perez
I was lucky enough to have seen him live playing the Touch LP with the same musicians, with my girlfriend now my wife at Concerts by the Sea in the Redondo Beach pier. It was new and just released. We were blown away. It has been our special favorite ever since. That jazz club was intimate and something special. Unfortunately not there anymore to my knowledge.
Brian O
Still listening to this timeless one-of-a-kind artist today, August 2019. Anybody else?

I discovered Klemmer while listening to a Sunday night weekly jazz radio program, studying for my college finals. Klemmer's music also reminds me of my college sweetheart.

It might have been the "JazzTrax" weekly radio show hosted by Art Good. Very distinctive voice, almost a whisper. The guy is still doing that show!
loved him since day one oh my God my first intro to jazz!!!

good for you

There is something magical about John Klemmer's music. My thoughts go so deep and so far. Amazing what it does, almost like making me foresee the future. It's that mystical.
Jac Arts
NPR used this a lot in the early 80s. Still fresh and magical.

Dan Tierney
I had forgotten all about this track until I started reminiscing about my old radio station, KY102 in Kansas City, Missouri. It was a rock station but on Sunday nights they would play music like this. Brian Protheroe's "Pinball" comes to mind. And Joe Cocker's " You Are So Beautiful". And Alice Cooper singing "Only Women Bleed". And Pink Floyd's " Time". Ah, memories.
Cynthia Kennie
This takes me back to California when I was 23 and had a great friend and lover. We always listened to this. We stayed close until 2019 when he passed. Rip j. L. Ferguson

I had four ESS Heil Towers with 400 watts of power and this song used to 'sizzle" around the room... Great album, the girls loved it...
Kenneth Tye
ESS AMT Towers bi-amped with SAE 2400L for everything below 1k. Sony 5650 V-FET for the high end with an Pioneer electronic crossover at 18db per octave. Turntable was a B&O 4000 and tape deck was a Nakamichi 1000. Crystal clear at any sound pressure level! Those were good times.

I can still smell my girlfriends perfume after 42 years when I hear this album. John you are a musical genius. Thank you!!
Andrew Rei
When I started listening to smooth jazz on the smooth jazz channel on satellite radio in 2011, they'd play the Boney James version of this tune. But, starting about a couple of years ago, they began playing this version, and I really like it. Many times, the original is better than the copies/remakes/covers.
Arnold Ramson
this version can never be duplicated
Paul Coxe
Almost always its duh the orginal
Brian G.
First heard this in the 70s when there were still some great FM Jazz stations around. Still love it today along with Jean-Luc Ponte from that period….Miss those days….
Frank From Upstate NY
I liken John Klemmer to being like the "John Denver" of Tenor Saxophone. Range, everything...but totally at ease with everything he did.
Tyrone Williams
1975 i was 15yrs.old my father would play John klemmer Touch, I loved then and treasure it now.

I've been in love with jazz since infancy but, fell in love forever with an alto saxophone at age 10, 1966. Fell off the wagon and then John Klemmer's entire Touch album transformed my heart in 1975 and today, I dream of being as good as he is on any woodwind instrument! Excellent sensations run through my being when I hear this. 💘
AJB
My girlfriend, Donna, turned me on to this when we were in our mid teens back in the 70s. We were both into progressive jazz early in our lives. It still moves me!
Bill Perspic
This album is in the top ten albums of all time .!!!!!!!!!!! Not only is the musicianship the finest , but the atmosphere depicted in it speaks of space travel, ,time travel,,,that human feeling and nature that transcends space and time but we are caught in . it and our only real escape may be music . ?/ . This album turned me on to slow cool jazz,,, Did John Klemmer invent it . Truly
Orestis Poulos
How can this music not take you away.....

Okay - I hate to admit that I just recently discovered this amazing artist( thank you Boney James). what I really would love to know is who wrote the bass line? and who is this bass player?
