I remember when this album first came out in 86. I was a senior in high school, and played the shit out of this cassette. The songs on this album dominated the radio stations for months. If you hadn't heard of Bon Jovi before this album, you damn well knew who they were after this album came out. Fucking rocked this album. Their absolute best work.

I was ten years old in 1986 when I bought this album when it was a new release. Had to cut the long plastic keep you from stealing thing off. Without cracking the case. I can almost smell the new cassette smell when listening to slippery when wet thirty some years later. Just need a turbo panther,super lobo or tamiya frog R/C car to go with it. Makes you miss the old days.

My kids loved it because they could borrow my music...I don't know how many times I had to buy all my AC/DC tapes, and Appetite for Destruction, and we would watch Headbangers Ball together while other parents were trying to ban and censor music!!! Now in my 60s in age, I still love all music including new music with my Grandkids...texting to see if I had heard one song or another!!! I feel like this has kept me sane through all my health issues over the last 45 years, and was one way I could relate to my kids, and was an avenue open through which they knew I could understand the things they were going through. Some people might feel like this is a form of "trying to be their friend, and not their parent", but for me I had both relationships, and they knew that I was not only their Mom, but that I would be fair if they were in trouble, which was very rare.

Bon Jovi's first two albums did little to distinguish themselves from other hard rock/hair bands at the time.
It wasn't until they changed production strategies and toughened up, that their fortunes changed in a massive way!
SLIPPERY WHEN WET is the first Bon Jovi album I ever picked up.

Fantastic song from their greatest album, 'Slippery When Wet'. I remember a few months before its release a friend had a copy of 7800⁰ Fahrenheit on tape. He was an early adopter of the relatively unknown band here in the UK. When 'Slippery..' was released they went stratospheric.

I was 16/17 years old when this album was released in 1986 here in Melbourne Australia. Though it obviously sold well, I found the heavy airplay of Bad Medicine, etc, plus obsessed young girls and young women at that time drove me away for a few years. However, as the years passed and things settled down, the strength of this band and this album have proven timeless and truly worthy of decent airplay. All these years, a good band and this is good B Side Rock Music tune, and in my world, B Side Rock Songs are just as good as "Commercial Radio Release" songs👍👍👍✔️✔️✔️.

Little known fact: Instrumental solo intro is called "Pink Flamingos" written and performed by David Bryan, a Juilliard alumni, later Bon Jovi's keybord player. The cover to this album was changed several times, and Jon was happy with none. Finally, he grabbed a black plastic bag, sprayed it with water and wrote the infamous words, "Slippery When Wet" with his own finger! :)
