By the time they're 25 most of them are stuck with dead-end or menial jobs. By 30 when many of them have kids it's all over.

If their parents can't convince them to study hard, train hard or pursue a career in something they have a talent in they can suit themselves I always say.

It's really heartbreaking when you take the context of this relationship they wrote into the movies and then go to 4 where Rocky has to deal with Creeds death. Creed literally lifted him out of the gutter like no one else. If you've ever had a friend in your life who was never afraid to push you to your minds edge, this scene hits especially hard.

Man these movies provided multiple iconic scenes. "There is no tomorrow". Lots of people have put off their hopes and dreams thinking they had more time to do it. You have to check your resources, have faith, and go for it. Even if you fail you'll learn something. This scene is just so brilliantly put together, it forces you to feel everything thats happening here because attention has been paid to every bit of detail, from the main subjects (Apollo and Rocky) to the secondary subjects (Adrian and Pauly). Pay close attention to Adrian as she reacts to what is going on, subtle expressions but absolutely vital to indicate whats going through her mind. then the little bits of flashbacks are super imposed with the right amount of score. I am very old, and I saw this movie in the theaters when it was first released. I remember this scene well. I had absolutely no confidence in Rocky at this point. Mr. T was going to crush him in the most embarrassing defeat in boxing history. Looking back now Carl Weathers was really a phenomenal athlete and actor. The Rocky franchise would not have been the same without him.

I think this scene is actually really important as pertains to Creed. Characters like Micky and Adrian always get lots of credit for inspiring Rocky, but it was Creed that helped inspire him to defeat Lang (like he does here), and I think the inspiration he instilled in Rocky at this point is what carried him through to win all of the fights in the next three movies. As a man who had more recently been a boxer, as opposed to Micky, Creed caused Rocky to dig down another level and win.

Besides the superb acting from Carl, he was in unbelievable condition. That alone takes serious focus and dedication to obtain; and maintain that kind of physique.
