1. Ümlaut is the name of an anarchist punk/crusty/hardcore/thrash band, featuring members of Catharsis, who claimed to be from Finland.
2. Ümlaut is Jeff Düngfelder, an experimental composer/sound artist from the United States, based in the northern Connecticut countryside. He employs sound, film, photography and graphic design in his audio-visual projects.
3. Umlaut is a band based in Melbourne, Australia which includes former Mr. Bungle member Bär (pronounced "Bear") McKinnon.
4. UMLAUT is a Japanese rock band. (UMLAUT.)
5. Umlaut were a short-lived indie band from Sheffield, England who released one single "Winter Coat", in Oct 2005 on Fantastic Plastic Records then split up. The members went on to form two other bands, Situationists and Johnny Rocket & the Bang Bangs.

I got this cd in a zine - it feels like a whole lifetime ago, but there are so many songs and riffs that I remember, even though I haven't thought of umlaut in decades.
