The years of growing up and education bond him with Valjevo, a place from where he went to test himself in the world of music, and where he always returned as a winner. He started being involved in music very early. He won his first prize as "First Accordion of Europe" at the age of 12 on the prestigious music festival in Paris, France. His success on the "Song of Mediterranean" festival in Budva 1998, with the composition "The song of sirens" (interpretation award) gave him the possibility of participating on two prestigious international festivals in Belarus, in the cities Mahilyow and Vitsyebsk. In the year 1999 he won the Gran Prix on both festivals.
The last years in the nineties he spent composing music for the theater plays, like "Mandagora", "Ljubinko and Desanka", "The slave of love", "On foot", "I don't have money, I won't pay"...

In years to follow Željko will remain in the very top of Serbian music. Numerous awards following his first album proved his quality and persistence.

After very long time, Serbia and Montenegro once again had their representative on this prestigious European contest. Winning 2nd place on the "Eurosong" contest in Istanbul and THE MARCEL BEZENCON Press award (Best Composer Award) made him way to the top of the European music scene.
This success changed the course of his career. This turning point gave a special tone to his musical opus and the songs he made after 2004.
Željko' s cooperation and duet with the Austrian singer Tamee Harrison "I live my life for you" made great success throughout Europe.
In December 2005 his last released album was a fantastic success and was sold in more than 800. 000 copies. This album represented a great quality improvement in Željko's work.
In that period Željko tried himself as a film music composer. In cooperation with "Cobra production" he composed music for the movie "Ivko' s slava" ("Ivkova slava").
His great accomplishment on "Eurosong" 2004 was repeated in Athens 2006, when his musical piece "LEJLA" , written for Bosnia and Herzegovina' s representative - "Hari Mata Hari" band, won not only 3 place on the contest, but also the prestigious best composer award (COMPOSER AWARD 2006), assigned to Željko by all composers who participated on the festival.

Ti,otrovno vino ali zena
Moja ja casa prapuna
A ruke gladne kad te nema
Smeh,rekla si nije to afera
Greh,kida ti dusu sa revera
Tako nezna,tako okrutna
Prodala bi me
Samo da bi krala tudje dodire, boljeg nisi znala
Trosila si laz,sve bez izuzetka
Zivela si bez kraja i pocetka
Tako nezna,tako okrutna
I lazno moja habanera
Prodala bi me
Samo da bi krala tudje dodire, boljeg nisi znala
Trosila si laz,sve bez izuzetka
Zivela si bez kraja i pocetka
Ti,sto imas kuda a ja nemam…
Hvala sanela i bojan
The song "Habanera" by Željko Joksimović is a ballad about a toxic relationship between two people. The lyrics depict the singer feeling inferior to their partner, who is reveled to be a dangerous and deceitful person. The singer compares their own life to their partner's, highlighting the fact that they are stuck in their longing while their partner is free to do as they please. The partner is described as a poisonous drink and a woman, to whom the singer's hungry hands reach out when she is not around. The chorus repeats the phrase "tako nezna, tako okrutna, i lazno moja habanera" which means "so tender, so cruel, and false, my habanera". The singer is aware that the relationship is not a love affair, but a sin that plagues them, as the partner only uses them to satisfy her own desires.
The second verse of the song continues to describe the partner's negative characteristics. She is said to sell the singer out just to steal another's touch, and she spent her life recklessly and without direction. The words "habanera" and "prapuna" are not commonly used, however, they carry a symbolic meaning in the song. Habanera is a Latin American dance and a style of music, and in this context, it signifies the partner's charm and the power she has over the singer. Prapuna is a Serbian term for a large wooden cup used for drinking, and it represents the singer's emptiness and longing for his partner.
Overall, the song tells a story of a relationship that is unfulfilling and harmful for the singer, but he cannot let go of the toxicity because of his affection for his partner. The lyrics are raw and evoke strong feelings of both passion and pain.

Hvala Bogu, sto sam 91 generacija i sto sam slusala u detinjstvu kvalitetnu muziku. Drustvo otislo u tri lepe p. materne. Virtualan svet sve zastupljiviji. U zadnjih 15 god otislo sve u ku**ac. 🤔
