The band started in April 6, 2002 and their first record (DEMO #0) came out in 2004.
The line up finally was solidified in January 2005 during the record of their debut album, which was given the name "When lies turn true" (kogda lozh stala pravdoi). This record sees a release in autumn 2005 and turns to be successful enough to make a band one of the most recognized bands on the alternative scene in Russia.
The year later Origami makes a second record called "...even angels make mistakes" (i angeli oshibayutsa) and shoots a video for the 1st single, "No superfluous words" (bez lishnih slov), which hits the first place on Russian alternative TV channel.
Origami is known as a “live” band with their live shows filled with true feeling and emotions which won’t leave anybody indifferent.

The lyrics for Оригами's song "Война" (War) reflect the intense anger and frustration felt by the singer towards the world around them.
