Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Сhase and Status's song Eastern Jam contain a few lines of Hindi lyrics that add depth and meaning to the song. The lyrics, "Silsila yeh chaahat ka na maine bujhne diya" roughly translate to "This chain of desire, I did not let it be extinguished." This can be interpreted as the singer not wanting to let go of their desires, which could relate to their passion for music or their intense emotions. The next line, "Aur yahan jal rahe the hum" translates to "And here we are burning." This line adds intensity to the song as it portrays the singer and maybe their audience as being consumed by the music and lost in the moment. The repeated phrase "Jal" means "burn" and is used to emphasize the feelings of passion and intensity in the song.

Overall, the Hindi lyrics add to the cultural richness of the song and give it a unique touch. The mix of English lyrics and Hindi lyrics adds an element of fusion to the song that is reflective of the diverse backgrounds and cultures of the performers.

I just watched the Bollywood film ‘Devdas’ and finally heard the original song, it brought me back, the Hindi lyrics are “while here...here I burned”. In the original she’s singing about a flame 🔥 at the beginning she says “this longing I didn’t let die” the song is “Slisila Ye Chaahat Ka”
