Two Hearts
░The Birthday Massacre░ Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Erasing these two photographs (photographs)
Is just a waste of time
The danger's in the subtlety (subtlety)
Between the evening and the night

Two hearts beating
One beats the other
While the other just looks away (away)
Two hearts dreaming nightmare together
Leaving nothing more, nothing left to say

Replacing every part of me (part of me)
That's in between the lines
The promise just a shade of gray (shade of gray)
Between the darkness and the light

Two hearts beating
One beats the other
While the other just looks away (away)
Two hearts dreaming nightmare together
Leaving nothing more, nothing left to say

Two hearts beating
One beats the other
While the other just walks away (away)

Two hearts dreaming nightmare together
Leaving nothing more, nothing left to say

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of ░The Birthday Massacre░'s song Two Hearts describe a tension-filled, emotional situation between two people. The singer says that erasing two photographs is a waste of time, implying that the memories will remain no matter what. They point out that danger lies in subtlety, suggesting that things are not as simple or easy to interpret as they may seem. There is a sense of confusion and uncertainty, as the evening and night blur together.

The chorus repeats the phrase "two hearts beating, one beats the other while the other just looks away," emphasizing the idea that one person in the relationship is stronger or more invested than the other. The use of the word "nightmare" to describe their dreams together implies that they are not necessarily pleasant, and that their relationship might be causing more harm than good. The phrase "nothing more, nothing left to say" implies that the singer has reached a limit - they have nothing else to give to this relationship and cannot communicate their feelings anymore.

Overall, the lyrics of Two Hearts point to a complex, emotionally-charged relationship that is difficult to fully grasp. There are hints of sadness, confusion, and resignation throughout the song.

I'm new to big finish. Yet in just two months I've blown over a hundred quid on a select few (!) of the first 100 at just £2.99 per download only. It's an expensive way to get through a commute but so far worth every penny.

Now, about JAGO & LITEFOOT... I love these old duffers but the physical copies are too steep and even downloading is prohibitive, what with the sheer amount of good stuff I've got my eye on from big finish.

This is where Audible comes in. Yes, Audible, they don't just do books. The 7 or 8 quid monthly subscribtion gets me 1 credit per month. Search (in the Audible app) for "Big Finish" and there's quiet a selection. Search stories or characters by name and there's even more. Instead of the usual disc or download price from Big Finish itself, I get Jago & Litefoot full seasons for one credit - that's £7.99 a time! Once a month like clockwork!

So no physical copy, though. They do look great in this video all neat and shiny (so many still wrapped!? Even I, Davros unlistened??! A sinful waste) but I'm no completist hoarder. Even Mr PertweeSmith here doesn't actually have shelf space enough, you notice. I'm fine with downloads only, it's a matter of personal taste and for me, this stuff is quite personal anyway.

So if the price of this stuff is cramping your wishlist (as it would for any sane person who happens to love a bit of Big Finish) then maybe my Audible discovery will help. Just a thought : )

Wow! What an incredible collection! Congrats on 7 years, that's insane! I'm glad of the advice on Jago and Litefoot, I'll know not to skip around seasons 1-5 then! I also loved your enthusiasm for Persuasion, The Peterloo Massacre, and Masters of Earth! Thanks for sharing your collection update with us!

A nice collection, Big Finish collections are always my favourite collection videos and I enjoy hearing your thoughts on the stories; your not the only one with a misprint of ...Ish; with me I wrote the correct number on a piece of paper and put it in the case, its very off putting seeing two CDs with the same number. Looking forward to your next video.

@pertweesmith11

Thank you very much for the kind words means a lot :D Ahhh i think it is pretty common problem with early Big Finish as i do have some inlay misprints

@PitchSkullBlack

The dvd release on amazon of Wheel is actually an american exclusive of the brit box recon from what I've heard sadly.

Recently managed to find The Five Companions for one pound fifty in a charity shop, looking forward to listening to it.

Great video, and collection.

@pertweesmith11

Thank you very Pitch :D very good bargain considering it goes for silly money, Ahhh that does make sense about Wheel

Whenever I see somebody with a decent amount of physical 1-50s I do get a bit envious as I didn't know about Big Finish when these were still in print. Its a bit of a slog trying to track down certain stories on Ebay, so I've had to use the digital versions. Just wish I'd picked up a few 1-50s

@SpectrumStorms

With me, I finished 1-50 with Nekromanteia and Zagreus and I am currently more than halfway through 51-100.

@paulcollings6603

Great Collection, I will NEVER get that much Big Finish. I've only got The First Doctor Adventures.

@wjones28

When u realize you'll never have a collection a tenth this size 😢

Also is jago and litefoot worth having physically for the price?
