I dedicated this to my son, Jaxon when he was born. He has Down Syndrome. Everyone thought it was too difficult and scary to take care of a special needs baby. I thought God spent some extra time on him to make him perfect and i feel blessed everyday that Jax chose me to be his mommy. I knew the second I saw him that he was my purpose in life. I was born to be his mommy. He is 5 now and I don't know how I survived life without him. I wouldn't change not 1 single thing about him. My husband and I were trying to conceive for 2 years. When I had my son in 2018 and was doing a late night feeding I couldn’t help but think of this song. My son is just the light of my life and even though it took me and long time for him to come he was worth the wait. That’s why I tell him “God must have spent a little more time on you.” I would love to have the chance to dance with him to this at his wedding one day. It’s such a beautiful song. ❤️

Amazing how the meaning of a song can change so drastically from when we were just preteens ourselves. I loved this song back then but never could I have foreseen how much this song would mean to me later in life. It makes me think of my special needs little girl. I know a lot of people pity parents of special needs children, but looking at her all I can think is what a blessing she has been, how carefully crafted she was to be everything I could have wanted or needed. She’ll always have the heart of a child and there’s something so special about that.
