Someone Who Cares
♫ Three Days Grace Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Every street in this city
Is the same to me
Everyone's got a place to be
But there's no room for me

Am I to blame?
When the guilt and the shame hang over me
Like a dark cloud,
That chases you down in the pouring rain.

It's so hard to find someone
Who cares about you,
But it's easy enough to find someone
Who looks down on you

Why is it so hard to find someone
Who cares about you?
When it's easy enough to find someone
Who looks down on you

It's not what it seems
When you're not on the scene
There's a chill in the air
But there's people like me
That nobody sees so nobody cares

Why is it so hard to find someone
Who cares about you?
When it's easy enough to find someone
Who looks down on you

Why is it so hard to find someone
Who can keep it together
When you've come undone?
Why is it so hard to find someone
Who cares about you?

I swear this time it won't turn out
The same 'cause now I've got myself to blame
And you'll know where we end up
On the streets that is easy enough
To find someone who looks down on you

Why is it so hard to find someone
Who cares about you?
When it's easy enough to find someone
Who looks down on you

Why is it so hard to find someone
Who can keep it together
When you've come undone?

Why is it so hard to find someone
Who cares about you?

Overall Meaning

The song "Someone Who Cares" by Three Days Grace is about feeling lost and alone in a big city where nobody seems to notice or care about you. The lyrics suggest that the city can be a crowded and impersonal place where everyone is rushing to be somewhere, but where nobody really sees or connects with each other. The singer wonders if he is to blame for his predicament, as the guilt and shame he carries around with him can make him feel like a dark cloud that chases him down in the pouring rain.

The chorus of the song reflects the singer's frustration at how hard it can be to find someone who truly cares about you, and how easy it can be to find someone who looks down on you. The singer acknowledges that it's not always easy to see beyond appearances to find the people who are truly worth knowing, and that there are many people like him who are invisible to others because they don't fit into the traditional social scene.

This song reminds me of May 24th 2020. That day I messaged my high school ex, who I then haven’t spoken to in 6 years, hoping I would win her back. On the 31st of that month, after a lot of talking, she said she wanted me back so much ❤️.

Late March of 2021 Finally came, I got on my knee and I asked her to marry me. And she said Yes!

8/20/22 is our wedding date

EDIT: We're officially Married!!! 💒🎉

EDIT: it's our First Year Anniversary (8/20/2023).. and STILL going Strong! 💕

EDIT: We found out we're pregnant 🤩🤩🤩👶👼👨‍👩‍👦 our expected Due Date is on July 18th 2024! 💕💕💕

EDIT: My wife and I went for her 20 week ultrasound scan. The gender has been confirmed. We're having..... a girl 👧 😊❤️.... things are still looking great..

So here's my story.....

One day, My crush confessed her love to me. I was so dumb then, I said no.

As I kept on thinking about this, I then told her that I liked her.

About a year later, (28 days ago) her sister sent me a video, of how she would do so much for me. And she said that she would choose me over another guy that liked her.... She didn't knew she was recorded.

I was so surprised, and I just wanted to be there, hugging my crush. It felt as if there was more than what to expect. Now that I hear this song, I can't stop but think of her. Maybe one day, we will both be together. And everything will build up, like one huge puzzle piece.

For anyone who's in a bad place in their life right now and is listening to this song for comfort, I want you to know life gets better. I used to listen to this song when I was depressed about 5 years ago, and I know it's hard, but it gets better, and I'm proof of that.

@RajaRojas

Still hope after four years you feel the same.

I myself go back and forth with it. Nonetheless I struggle with getting over him, but I find happiness with help from loved ones who love me back.
Like you said though, proof is there, it gets better.

Everyone, keep your head up
