They are locally regarded as the best rock band after Beyond, a popular rock band that is based in Hong Kong. Mayday's songs resonate greatly with many Taiwanese youths who can identify with their themes of love, world peace and growing up. They are also influenced by The Beatles, which is their favourite group whom they aspire to be like.
Their music has the unique ability to bring the listener to his feet or move the listener to tears. They sing songs mostly in Taiwanese and Chinese although some fans profess that their Taiwanese songs are more emotional and touching. Unlike some rock bands, they also project a clean and healthy image and have never been seen smashing musical instruments willfully, drinking or gambling. Mayday represent the zeitgeist of the Taiwanese and Chinese youth who identify with the band's themes of innocence, childhood, dreams, aspirations, loneliness and determination. The song starts with the image of the singer sitting in a bathtub, letting the showerhead replace their tears. They are unsure if they have actually shed any tears, much like they are uncertain if the person in the story ever truly loved them. The weak curtains cannot keep the darkness out, and even the morning light cannot dispel the confusion and uncertainty that reigns over the singer's heart.
However, the chorus brings in a note of hope and beauty, as the singer compares their lost love to a rainbow in the sky after a rainstorm. The love is dazzling, but also confusing and difficult to hold onto, and the singer can only reach out to try to catch the wind. The bridge repeats the sense of confusion and contradiction, as the love is compared to the sun and the rain - unpredictable and impossible to grasp.
The song ends with the repeated image of a maze, an endless and torturous journey that the singer cannot turn back from. All they can do is recognize that this story is one of mistakes, misunderstandings, and lost chances.

五月天的舞台魅力是很恐怖的，我只是以前偶然經過他們的簽唱會，那個音樂一下，五個人一起專注又享受，超震撼，後來就門票一張張買，從沒錢的時期終於進入搖滾區
