Da la la da da
Da da la hah
Du du lu li
Di li da la da la la da da la la
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh-oh
Take Back, take back, take back, take back
Take Back
Uh, uh
The lyrics to 倖田來未's song TAKE BACK refer to a personal journey of the singer to rediscover and reclaim their true self, represented by the phrase "sugao" or "素顔," which means "true face" or "real self." The opening lines of the song talk about how the singer feels lost and caught up in the hustle and bustle of the city, which has made them forget their true self. The phrase "私は染められていくの" means "I am being dyed," which suggests that the singer is being influenced and changed by their surroundings.
The lyrics then move to talk about how the singer used to play and seek validation from filling gaps in their lives, but this only covered up their wounds and didn't heal them. However, the singer discovers that they can take back their true self with the help of the person they love, represented by the words "anata dake," meaning "only you." The singer feels like they are being dyed by their loved one's gaze and touch until every part of their being is submerged, as the phrase "yubisaki made subete" suggests.
The lyrics convey a powerful message about the importance of discovering and embracing one's true self, as well as the healing power of love and acceptance. The words "anata no yasashi-sa wo dakishimete" meaning "embrace your kindness" emphasize the importance of feeling safe and embraced in the arms of a caring and gentle other.
