The group has been active since 1996 and has done its rounds around the doujinshi/indies music circuit. Its earliest releases are very hard to find. It did however, gain exposure from 2005 onwards with the release of its album Stigma and has since gained popularity through the use of its music in various media.
Yousei Teikoku's sound is very German, gothic and industrial. Yousei Teikoku merges heavy guitars and fantastical story telling. Yui's voice is not the typical growling associated with metal/hard rock, she carries an ethereal and siren-like quality as she flits gracefully through Tachibana's compositions. Their music combines elements of electronic, ambient, heavy rock, neoclassical, gothic, industrial and anison.
When she's not being Fairy Yui and claiming to be 4325 years old, Yousei Yui (Yui Itsuki in the real world) is a voice actor and a massive nerd. She has three computers - one of which she built, coded her personal website and Yousei Teikoku's website and voraciously on top of technology and massive video game player.
The other members of Yousei Teikoku have nominated Yui to be the frontwoman of the band so that they can get on with their job of composing music. Plus even from the group's early days, Takaha Tachibana was always secretive that during lives, he would intentionally play from the back of the stage rather than stand beside Yui. Team Fairithm, the production group behind Yousei Teikoku have always been veiled in secrecy - however there is no doubt that Takaha and Yui are part of the team and take a hands on role with their music.
They released several independent albums before signing with their current publisher Lantis circa 2006. With Lantis they have released 5 full albums and 15 singles, as well as several anime/video game theme songs and soundtracks.

Maybe it's best you don't. Though the concept and premise of Seikon no Qwaser is AMAZING, I personally think that the gratuitous amount of fan service and borderline hentai actually ruin the quality of the show...

Dont listen to the coin purse above me. It was very good if you are an adult. Like I said. It has very adult themes. The the alchemists power is driven off of a woman's life energy. Try to make an anime about that that isnt a little sexual. I will note that this isnt one I'd watch with my buds or anything. Me and my girlfriend watched the entire series and there was more than a little red faces and oh mys thrown around

Jokes aside, the show's sexual aspect is gratuitous even if you don't personally mind it. The fact that you acknowledge that certain parts make you "go red" or say "oh my" kinda proves that those aspects are more "the author's sexual fantasies" more than anything of importance adding to the plot. I do like Seikon no Qwaser's premise and I watched the entirety of what was available of the show at the time I did so, there is a great story and concept behind the show. The argument could be made that the concept of soma will be at least somewhat sexualized but come on, to the extent the show did? Baby, I clearly recall a few episodes where fights spent more time or emphasis on the boobie suckin' than the actual fighting. I'm just saying, it's not everyone's cup of tea (most people I've met that has seen this anime are at least a little bit off-put by it).
