The song 最後の雨 (Saigo no Ame) by 島津亜矢 is a ballad about a love story that is on the verge of breaking apart. The opening lines speak of one person saying goodbye and running out into the rain, leaving their umbrella behind. Symbolically, this means that they are leaving behind what was supposed to protect them from the storm of emotions, and are now going to face it head-on. The sadness in the air seems to blend in with the silver rain reflecting the streetlights, and everything seems to be turning into a grey, dull blur, signifying that the singer's world has turned lifeless now that their love is gone.
In the chorus of the song, the singer tries to catch up with their lover before they both get soaked in the rain, and tries to embrace them. They know that this is the final rain and they don't want to get wet, perhaps signifying that this is the final chance to show their love. The poignant lyrics go on to state their immediate emotions and the struggle to forget their love or get over it, as they truly loved their partner, and even if they forgot them, they don't want someone else to steal their heart. The song concludes with a final realization that someone else can help the person, but they cannot forget or stop loving the one they lost.
