Happy 30th Anniversary to my second favorite movie of all time, The Nightmare Before Christmas!!! This movie means so much to me. It's the film that got my obsession started with my favorite movie director, Tim Burton. I have seen all of his films, and they are all masterpieces. It also made me fall in love with Burton's iconic visual style and creativity. The stop motion animation holds up SPECTACULARLY to this day!! The iconic songs are great, and I know them all by heart. The score by my favorite composer, Danny Elfman who also provided Jack Skellington's singing voice, is nothing short of whimsical and beautiful. I have never loved a film as much as The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I will continue to love and cherish it for the rest of my life!

This is one of the greatest, most epic character introductions; but also world introductions. In three minutes, we’re introduced to the inhabitants of Halloween Town, their individualistic personalities, the tone of the movie, and then to Jack who is clearly portrayed as the main protagonist. In all seriousness, this is a fantastic movie. It has stood the test of time so well, love the story, authenticity, art direction, music, visuals, and voice acting performances! And I genuinely believe it gets better the older you get!

It’s funny how at first Disney thought it was too scary for kids when it first came out and had it under Touchstone and now they promote it themselves twenty something years later. But I’m glad it still happened either way loved this movie as a kid.

@OzzyUK Not really specific enough when that can describe 1/3 of Hollywood now. Touchstone originally was Disney for adults in movies that back then were too mature or in this case ‘scary’ for Disney’s core audience. However, the last movie I believe they used the name on was Strange Magic so now I think it’s just movies they have no faith in.

Henry Selick directed the movie, but he still gave Tim Burton the credit as it was his idea from day one. While I agree Henry Selick directed the movie, it was still Tim Burton’s idea first. So both of them deserve praise.
